To: Liberty Police Incorporated From: Julian Holmes, Lead Project Manager of LASP Subject: Trial Phase of the Sentinel Program
Good day representatives of the LPI, I am Julian Holmes and I am the head of the nearly operational Sentinel Program designed to aid the LPI by granting them the AI controlled patrol ships. As I'm sure you can surmise the advantages of this system are immense, it is however without its own drawbacks.
The primary issue at the moment is actual combat testing and interaction with the many peoples that come and go from Liberty. It needs actual interaction in order to learn how to deal with the strange scenarios that our programmers cannot fully prepare for. It would be beneficial if our Sentinels could partner up with an LPI unit at their convenience to aid in this project's research schedule.
Our current objective for the moment as a unit is the patrol and interdiction of smugglers in the Texas system, thanks to the automation of the Sentinels, we plan to send units into the Dallas debris fields since they aren't impeded by the radiation, at least in the long term.
If you require more information regarding the L.A.S.P, here is the attached file for our division: Neural Net Link - L.A.S.P
It is my hope that our Sentinel units can aid the LPI and eventually become an integral part of the company, and hopefully expand our division in both numbers and sophistication.
Yours Sincerely, Julian Holmes
Lead Project Manager of LASP

My apologies for the somewhat delayed reply. Mr. Holmes. It'd seem like my colleagues are a bit tied up with other business at the moment. But anyhow.
Of course we'd be interested in assisting you and your project - it'd be a great asset for us to be able to send autonomous units on patrol to areas that are hazardous to humans, especially the example you mentioned - that area has essentially been out of bounds to any Police vessel since the Texas incident, at least for regular patrol vessels without radiation hardened electronics and armor to protect both the pilot and on-board equipment.
Would it perhaps be possible to contact you over the 5-KYP3 communications protocol? It'd be much easier for me to arrange a few patrols for your artificial intelligence if you could give me a username on the service, provided you've got one, of course.
Oh, and before I forget - would it be of interest to you to receive and look over a copy of the log database and software for our current (albeit somewhat limited in processing capacity compared to yours, I'd presume) autonomous vessels?

No need to worry about the time on the reply too much, its a busy life.
I am glad you appear to be enthusiastic about this project and its endeavours. It is my hope that these Sentinels can clamp down on the possible smuggling routes in the Dallas debris fields, perfect cover, dangerous and neglected. Perfect for the underworld to thrive in.
I am willing to communicate over 5-KYP3 communications protocol, I will attach the details for access to my terminal profile after sending with message.
I wouldn't mind looking over the data, could be enlightening. Who knows. We're always working to improve the computational and effective power of the Sentinel wing.
Yours Sincerely, Julian Holmes
