Regarding the OP, I'd just like to add one thing.
If you expect a reasonable RP environment, a place where you actually play a role as everyone else, well then a public server is your worst choice.
And to those who're going all "Your arguments are of such minor nature" try to imagine how it feels to play here if you actually know what RP is. One big ball busting ****, yes indeed.
Back to Cherius:
When you wanna RP in Sirius, try to stay somewhere in or close to Kusari (except TAUs). Most players there actually RP. And by saying "most" I mean little above 20%. That's why no one goes there, because he finds himself confronted with RP.

My two cents that just became a buck.
And there's people like me, who pirate you for songs.;)

There is no difference between system A and system B in terms of the quality of roleplay, or the proportion of people who make an effort to roleplay. It's not that people stay out of kusari because they are confronted with roleplayu. People stay out of Kusari because there is nobody in kusari. Self perpetuating emptyness
As for the OP.

Police characters acting as philosophers - eh don't really care too much. Sure it's a bit silly, but people want their characters to be something special. Furthermore, especially in Liberty you get to hear the word "corrupt" so frequently it makes you want to puke. After the 239087490236048623rd time you hear the word 'corrupt' coming from some pirate or other, you find yourself really wanting to reply, and that inevitably decends into a discussion.
Pirates like to hide off plain and then monologue. System yammerers are rather annoying, since you can't easily get rid of them. In short, they ensure there are no consequences for their character's words, by hiding off plain. In situations like that, a police character has no choice but to verbally take the pirate down, or sit there listening to the stuck-record repeating itself over and over and over and over and over.

Bretonian fighter trying to take on a Kusari destroyer? He's clearly an idiot. Don't worry about it, and just let him blow up.

LSF trying to farm codenames in the omegas is outright silly.
I don't see your problem. Your decscribed situations are quite normal. No reason to rage about.
' Wrote:I guess that's all for today, if i don't get banned i will write another post tomorrow, and remember kids, the Admins are not the problem here, the players are.
Sorry what? *ironic* Sure, the players are the main problem of the Disco community. Without them, everything would be much better... *ironic*
Welcome to disco! thats all I can say. what are you expected to find here? All RP I ever saw was just an exuse for PvP or Metagaming. All official factions metagaming, all unofficial factions too, indies even more.
So its not surprising for me to see LSF in Omegas. not at all. of course my char would be like WTF?! O_O, but not me.
Again: All RP is just an excuse. Ballance between factions and following Lore? No- PvP. Forum RP and Diplomacy - QQ/Rage and again PvP. Using tactical advantage? No- using game mechanics and gank. I was just like you - wanted to show that this all is wrong and all what we are talking about and whats going on is two different things. but meh. who wants to listen to me? if something is good for somone who have more power then you - you have no chance to defend your rights.
Quote:PS- i'm really sorry for my poor English, i'ts all because in Russia we do not have schools, we anly have bears with unicycles and Ballalaika's, wearing Ushanka's and holdin' an AK in the right hand, and a Samovar filled with Vodka in the left one.
Just for that I can forgot all what you sayed and give you kick in a butt. This stereotype about Russians should die in early 80ths. It makes me sick when I see Russian talking like that about his motherland. Love it or shut the hell up
