A fraps problem

I've installed fraps about 4 months ago. I was all happy and excited about how I'm gonna make movies of FL. And then I tested it. Well, it didn't work as I expected. When I start to record, even in single player, my game slows down to 0 to 2 FPS (but my fraps is set to record 30 FPS, what is my normal game speed, sometimes even faster). Also, I can't view the films later. Some "error", as it says. I have an old computer and a bad knowledge about computers. Which one is responsible? Also, can this be solved, and, if yes, how?

You actually need a good PC to record anything. As for the error, I don't know.

For fraps recording you need two things: A good amount of RAM and a good HDD. By good, I mean one that has a very fast writing speed. I suggest external HDDs for that.
