just now my merc char was flying around kusari when i was attacked for no apparent reason upon undocking from deshima station. boom - gone before i had a chance to do much damage. no words, just gunfire. respawn, and ask why he engages
he has a bh id with some other tag (not bh, house, or priate, some trade company i think). he said he attacked bacause of my rouge tag and my outcast equipment. He admits to not scanning my id and basing it all on my tag and equip.
my questions -
1) - how rp-legal is this. my char works for the outcasts indirectly, protects his fathers cardi trade routes mostly, so does that make it rp-legal?
2) - how server-rules-legal is this? something worth wasting the admins time on (yes i have screenies and the such)?
still kinda new, so i am learning the rules still, but let me know guys. thanks?

He shouldn`t look just a tag to attack you. He should scan you for an ID before attacking you. Tag should be as close to the ID you are carrying, so if you are a merc, you should have zoners tag (for both sides), BH tag (for lawful side), or Junker tag (for unlawfull side). (<-- all by my opinion). But, i think that you can have any tag, just it will idicate for what side you prefer to deal with;)

Well, if you do indirectly work for outcast, and it is well know by others, then he can attack you. Altough he should had made some RP warning.

I wouldn`t bother admins for that, but if you feel like it, go ahead...
Ah... I'll admit that you're supposed to scan for ID first, but you seem to have had a pretty fishy setup. A BH ID with Outcast weaps? Maybe you should switch that to a merc ID then, because those two factions hate each others guts...
Fist, I think it was the other guy that had a BH ID. While your setup is fishy, rules do say scan ID before attack- if you don't, you might end up killing trader ID'd people which leads to no good...
but on the other side, merc id with rogue tag and outcast weapons is clearly unlawfull or no ? it show big connection to the unlawfulls so other question is how can be someone with that tag and weapons docked on lawfull base . and deshima is BH station so the dont allow dock someone with that tag and weapons ....
' Wrote:6.6 PvP combat is allowed only on roleplay basis. The pilot who is attacking must scan for an ID prior to the attack. Relying on general reputation status (red/neutral/green) without scanning for the ID is not allowed.
Non-RP attacks are considered PvP abuse and are sanctioned accordingly.
And Bloodhound, he should NOT have a Zoners tag. That in no way means he can work for both sides. Zoners are NEUTRAL to both sides, not 'hey get our tag if you want to shoot anybody you see.'
I'd say he was OORP just for shooting out you without a bounty contract.
Biggest problem I see with bounty hunters on this server is that they dont go by their faction's RP. Bounty hunters work for money, and only money. They'll sit by and let lawfuls get slaughtered without acting because they dont have a contract on anyone in the area.
Many bounty hunter players, on the other hand, are using their faction as an excuse to pvp whore anyone and everyone who isnt entirely lawful, and even some people who are. They're acting like a vigilante military force, and they shouldnt be.
