Ah... For what programs i use it is weak, but it still is a solid CPU that will work for all the new basic programs.

It would run FL, but not much else. Anything newer than three years ago, gamewise, will sputter and die on the video card. This PC also doesn't come with an OS, but I assume you know that.

Like I said, it'd run FL. Your call, really.

Looks very basic and for the price it's a bargain.
Cost is probably down due to the lack of PCI-E and AM2.

The strangest thing is there is no CPU cooler ! That is just weird. I don't think they have included any
cooler with this fanless or otherwise.

Also be careful about buying a cooler, the link on the same page shows you all the compatible coolers, but
those are only compatible with the CPU, not necessarily with your pc-case. It's a mid-tower and some of the
aftermarket coolers are very big, there's not enough clearance in a mid-tower to fit them.
I would suggest buying someone's unused stock cooler if you are not planning to overclock this system.

Oh by the way don't let the company catch you with your pants down by sticking a warranty seal on the case. If they do that, you can't open the case by yourselves at all or you lose all warranty, so you are screwed. You are essentially required to take the machine to the shop to do stuff like inserting a new video card.

It is also the reason why I prefer to build my own machines. As usual underpriced machines insert lame video cards and hope to sway people with processing power, however with a dual core processor you should at least get a Geforce 7 or 8 type card, both of which are actually very cheap nowadays and you don't need the highest priced models. You won't be able to get them however (not the series 8 anyways) on a AGP slot, cause there simply aren't any. Best bet is 7600GS which is the best available for the AGP slot at the moment. If you don't buy a decent GFX card you can very easily face bottlenecks in games that demand a bit more performance.

There are tons of other things that as underpriced as they are on that machine will definitely not withstand the future at all. But yeah, most of them cost. Like the rest have said above if you don't plan on expanding much on this machine, then sure take it. Otherwise continue scraping up cash.

Not when you can't take advantage of it being an AGP 8X Card. The highest my AGP slot goes is 4X.

in a word: no.

it's a crap cheapassed system that is not upgradable and will bottleneck in about 4 different places. in addition to that it will overheat and have a shorter lifespan. even with an add-on cooler.

the PSU is also a piece of crap and A) won't deliver the power you need, B) it won't be a constraint power, C) isn't very energy efficient (which means more heat) and D) runs the risk of frying your computer.

so, no, don't get it. if I have time I'll look tomorrow for a computer for you.

I'd also advice against getting it.

It would probably be a decent one for a year max, but after that pretty useless for anything else than FL.

I've got nothing more to add here that other's hadn't already done.

Flying under radar.

Well, its your call, but i would simply walk by not even turning my head....

Whenever I see a computer priced this low, you can be sure there's a catch...

Like many already said, here you actually have 5 catches. The CPU-Cooler, no Graphics card, lame PSU, the Memory banks (533MHZ non-eec 9nsec memory is CRAP these days) and an even lamer (and very budget) mobo.

I'd buy it just to get my hands on the Case, CPU and HDD, the rest is so crappy that i'd tear it out before it even gets powered.

IF you have some ~500$ more to spend, i'd say, go for it and pump it full with everything you need, a decent CPU-Cooler, the graphics card, a new Mobo, new PSU and most definatly faster (and more) memory.

Just my thoughts...

If you had 500 more to spend you could build up your own very good one.
