I had to run from a mission there and it isn't the fact the npcs are hard in anyway its the swarms that lag everything up so much you just cant do anything. I would like there to be not so many at once it makes everything jittery you can't aim you get rammed all over the place.
I'm attaching a screenshot of what I mean and yes if you were to scroll down the radar it's the whole way full of them.
To be fair most missions are ok but those ones in beta need a lot less enemies at once though.
I'm also very much in favour of less npc's in general everywhere.
agree....in the radar screen..all u can see is at least 6 hostile NPC at the same time some times even worse there are like 12+ hostile NPC contact on my radar.....i would sugguest decrease BHG and Nomad NPC's attack frequency..and increase order VHF patrols heavily (not Anubis..)...
Had the problem again tonight, I was patrolling through several systems (delta, gamma, minor, etc) and every time I went through a jump hole I'd get swarmed by half a dozen BH or navy fighters spamming cruise disruptors on me.
At first I thought you just wanted to get rid of the NPC's around Toledo to help you stop smugglers. But reading on I altered my thoughts a bit.
I do get a bit annoyed by the constant Nomads and BHG around Toledo, but Nomads do seriously want to stop the Order there. But moving along...
When I fight anymore that 12 NPC's, I see an incredible increase in ping and lag my end, and in PC slowdown, but thats because I have a pathetic PC, I even have to resort to turning ALL the graphic bars to zero.:( This takes away the visual pleasure in the game. When I come up to a 'custom' ship, I gotta F1 and turn up the graphics again, and sometimes that has resulted in my demise.
I am in favor of lowering the NPC count slightly, but not by much or traders will have it easier.
How about near a faction home planet or base, enemy NPC count is zero? I mean a few fighters taking on stations and planets? Not very logical in my opinion.
