I wanted to post this because im pretty sure the offenders broke the rules, but they said they didnt. Alright here it is
2 days ago i was trading the diamond-niobium run when i ran into Chugoku. There was a blood dragon there right. I will not name thier names for causes of disrespect. The first time the pirate said halt when he saw me, but i somehow managed to escape and continued into Kyushu. When i was there i thought they werent there anymore, so i made another run. Then i jumped back into the hole surely enough i saw the pirate camping it. And i started to move. Then he started shooting at me and killing me eventually, but he DID NOT SAY A WORD TO ME. He just killed me as soon as i jumped through. At that time i lost my cargo and i was mad so i Pmed him and told him that I could get him sanctioned, he broke the rules. HE told me that If he told me to halt and i escaped, the next time he sees me he can shoot and kill me on sight. I beleieve that is not right, They have to demand cargo another time they see me, Not just kill me the next time they encounter me because i ran away before.
WHat do yall think because i want to make sure he understands that he indeed broke the rules
In my opinion, he had full right to kill you because you were in Chugoku and Blood Dragons like to keep their home secret. If you were seen in Crete, I'm pretty sure you'd either been shot or asked to leave if you weren't close to Crete. It is no different for the Blood Dragons.
Not only that, but he did make a demand, a demand that you stop. You refused this demand, and that should give him full rights to kill you.
That's how I interpret the situation.
EDIT: After re-reading the rules, my second argument is null and void since it does state monetary demand in the rules. My apologies about that.

Generally among us pirates, when we halt you, we're not there to give you a pat on the back, we're there to demand cargo, so a halt can basically be read as a demand. If you don't ignore the halt, we open up on you until you wise up or die, whichever comes first.
Nope. Rules say that you have to demand money or cargo before killing 'em. Stop is not enough. You can severely cripple them before demanding money, of course... But not kill them.
so, next time I'm pirating (not in my cruiser of course!), if I want to kill a trader for fun, do I just say "The Lane Hackers require 1.5 billion credits from all traders passing through this area," hit U, and open fire two seconds later?

He would be sanctioned for sure if you would report him for that. He clearly broke the rules and should reckon with the consequences if he still insists that he did things right.
look whoever says and thinks it is alright. THE FIRST TIME i ran i escaped even though he said halt. The thing is a couple minutes later when i returned He didnt even bother to say anything, He killed me right there, without demanding credits or nothing, And when the time he did tell me to halt he didnt demand any money either
