I'd add that there's nothing wrong with shooting biggest threat first, and the lesser threat second.
There's also nothing wrong playing your cards right, and using foreign intervention force, especially if it does not pose inRP threat to the existence of the House you operate in (i.e., to your "hunting grounds"), to weaken local law enforcement forces.
Badass criminal can shoot whatever he wants. That's the benefit of being unlawful.
When it comes to siding with someone, there must be reasoning, though.
I believe, Rheinland and Liberty don't plan conquering each other, so "defending the motherland" isn't really the case for Lane Hackers.

I'm pretty sure with the way Rheinlands economy is, they'd love to have Texas and any other Liberty system under their control. Hell, from what RP I hear before the Rheinlanders turtle everything, they intend to conquer Liberty.
