CC: Steven Howard This is Steven Howard, an independent Bounty Hunter flying a Liberty Gunboat (yes, legally). While your decision restricted BHG made gunboats (Bottlenose and Orca) from collecting bounties, I don't know if it will affect legally-owned Liberty Gunboats, Bretonian Gunboats or such. I don't want my bounty hunting career to be disrupted.
I refer to you under that title because we are a Guild.
Our capital shipyards are working at full capacity to meet the replacement needs of our fleet. During this period we have a shortage of certain ships available - thus the need to redirect some of our other ships to provide adequate security and protection, as well as continue operations. Obviously a Mako has more concentrated firepower than an Orca - but sometimes quantity can make up for quality in the short term. And our ships are designed to work together, effectively in pods or swarms, with complementary weaponry.
You see the reasoning behind why I issued those orders for our own ships - the ones we hold direct control over, regardless of the pilot. So throwing something like a Liberty gunboat into the mix would end up being counter-productive. Thus, if you did happen to be in possession of one of these ships like you describe - quite frankly, it'd be more trouble than it's worth to have it heading our way.
Of course, it would still be more cost effective for you to work with your Guild brothers and sisters to simply swarm the enemies in fighters and bombers. Overwhelming odds in taking down a hunted criminal tends to produce less anxiety amongst the hunters in general, as the targeted prey knows not which way to lash out.
