Official factions should have some bonuses then the indie players. Here this is one of it.

Pirates almost only use Pirate Transport in that class.
This Pirate Transport can actualy beat many Gunboat models, some easily even.
So its as good a ship as a Gunboat. Now Gunboats may be attacked by Cruisers and Battleships, but a Pirate Transport may not be attacked.
There are some things odd in FL that directly relate to the heavy lobbying power of Pirate-Players. Other example of this are the hyperpowerd Bombers with theyr "godmode"-cruiser-Antimattercannon-like* Bomber Supernova Antimattercannon.
(*same damage for 1/8 energy used in a 1/30 size vessel)

P transp cannot kill gbs if the GB pilot is not retarded. I have killed GB in CSF it that means that there is a lobby of CSF- junker players or just that the skill of the people have nothing to do with the balance?
And the rule exist exactly because of that. Battleships are not problem- slow with no cd . The cruisers are, same thrust speed with CD, if the cruisers were able to shoot pirates they would also be able to pirate(balance). In such case the trader have no chance to survive pirate attack. And as I already said the rule is NP, join any official faction with caps and shoot the p-transp with your cruiser/battleship if the rule bothers you, other option of course it to remove the rule and let transports to be fair game for lawfuls and unlawfuls.
