I think its a great model with an unpopular texture. If the texture made the ship's lines pop it would look great in my opinion. Its not my work, and I can see a lot of work went into making it so I would like to say I am grateful for this cool now model. That said; I don't think that shades of light brown and gray do it justice :-)

on both you can see model lines....
As for textures, ships use normal civilian ones as they were best solution for civilian based faction with limited resources....ships are not meant to look cool or beautiful, they are working vessel with rugged exterior and spartan interior...

I don't have milkshape installed on this computer to make high resolution image of textured ship, but textures actually follow ship lines.
During my work on this mod i never aspired to make cool ships with go faster stripes and such things, but rather ships that are RP feasible...

I dunno if I have to puke or actually like the new IMG line. I mean, the battlecruiser is so fugly Id rather tear my eyeballs out than look at it, but the snubs...

Why don't we give the IMG ships the color of the spatial. A color that says: I'm dirty, I spent a long time sitting in the mining fields".

The current coloring just seems to say to me: "I got starflyer all over me".

The exterior closely matches that of the Starflyer, starbreezer. Don't get me wrong: I LOVE THIS SHIP. The new IMG ships have "normal civilian textures" when the IMG consists of anything but normal civilians. So many factions on discovery use civilian ships that we risk confusion on one end and (due to the fact that we will be able to request CR ships) no one using them on the other.

I would just like to have a ship that people will see and think IMG. People will see these ships at the moment and think; Civilian. As these ships (as far as I know) will not be available to everyone they should convey the fact that they are indeed IMG vessels. I love you work and would be willing to help with any textures.

Matter of taste I suppose. The fighters actually look quite nice. Miners... reasonably so. I'm not real fond of the transport, but given it's size and 2.2K hold, I wager it'll primarily be used for NPC pirating (victim role) anyway. The textures look REALLY bad when you view them in HardCMP. That app does not render the MAT colors of models properly. (especially the tanks).

Wouldn't have minded putting your philosophy to the test for the Basalt, Dacite and Mafic replacements.
