Is the ease of getting around a factor? As a Rheinland Unlawful, I know Rheinland really gets me down because the Jump Holes and Base locations are stupid. I mean Munich - no one goes there.

I ask because Unlawfuls->Lawfuls->Unlawfuls etc. in terms of attracting activity.

Alternatively, It could start to get a lot better seeing as some of the better trade runs go through Kusari, now that Rheinland and Bretonia are at war.

Unless Hydrocarbons and Alien Organisms get a sellprice 8000+ there wont be any miners after it (except maybe Samura-faction-players).

Alien Organisms, mined in Hokkadio and in Omicron Beta (That would be Samura and GMG) and sold on say cambridge and Its research station for about 10.000 Credits. And not buyable anywere esle.

That would make two hostile factions mine their stuff in the midst of their enemies (Outcasts for GMG and Blooddragons for Samura) and a damn long way to the sellingpoint leading through a Warzone.

Long ways, high prices and deadly hazards, that is what we want.

Hmm wel Dragons have a nice flight to Sigma-13, Honshu, Hokkaido and Kyushu, after that it gets pretty tedious.
Not to sure about the GC, never had one.
I guess they would use the same routes though.

Are we sure we wish for a selling point in Bretonia though.
I am sure GMG could use it, but Samura won't be anytime soon.
Of course, I guess if the profit is right you could share with an independant transport, but would not the drop rates have to be balanced to reflect this?

Correct me if I'm wrong but smuggling stuff to GC and Dragon bases suck as well. Adding something to smuggle there would raise activity even more.

Me likes smuggling.

Depends. Mining profit depends on a few factors: Fillspeed, route distance (traveltime), sell price. A lower sell could be offset by quicker filling and a shorter route. Heck, the Tau 29 to Nago route is 0, you mine hydrocarbs locally and sell them right to the station in the field for 700ish a pop if I remember correctly. Great for a starting player using a freighter.

Alien Organisms are also present in the Theta system, and in decent quantity. Samura can scoop those up easily while backed by their Corsair allies. And sneaking through Omega 41, Omega 5, Cambridge gives them a very easy route to run. Sorry, sell at Cambridge will not work.

Both Kishiro and Samura have Gold, and Niobium bonuses. And if I remember correctly, Beryllium too, which does sell on Narita. Mining ops in Leeds and Tau 23 are possible.

Yes Hydrocarbons at Nago make a nice opportunity for new players. But they start in Penny, even with a /restart Miner and by the time they hear about Tau-29 they are usually past the stage of having the trip worth it. And if they hear about it before, the trip doesn't really sound appealing to someone who is really new to the server. Even more so if they are inexperienced newbies who will get shred by the outcast stilettos in the area.
The can dock, sure. but did you ever watch the starfliers in Penny getting shot up by lvl 2 rogue NPCs in front of Erie?
Having Nago for new players is a nice idea, but I can't really see it working, even less generating player interaction.

As for mining bonuses we already have: Mining bonuses in Leeds and Dublin won't generate activity for Kusari. Furthermore I have to tell you that you are sadly wrong in terms of Beryllium. I wish you were right though. That would be an actual commodity to ship into our own space.
But Samura/Kishiro in Tau-23? Wouldn't the IMG object if we actually started mining there?

However, the proposal I made was more supposed to be scrap-like mining rather than yet another long-run-high-profit mining.

No promises on this but I'll look into it. Hydrocarbons are standard commodities - sold all over the place. Just adding a high sell point could potentially create a golden trade route. For instance, Fuchu and South Shields sell hydrocarbons real cheap.

IMG won't really object much to Kusari setting up a Beryllium op - it's BMMs field anyway. Heck, it might even cause a bit of Samura-versus-BMM fighting Tauside, and give the Outcasts another target... You'd be a bit far from a safe haven though. Niobium is kinda IMG's puppy, so yea, people would be unhappy to see Kusari move in on that. Still, there's 4 seperate niobium fields (3 in T23, 1 in T37) and one in Leeds. Not like we'd run out.

Mine in Hokkaido.

Dublin was an ideal system as it had unlawfuls already there and an air of conflict about it, much like Hokkaido does.
Plus people have to go the whole way to Hokkaido, which is a nice route.

And how about adding gold route for a few days or weeks, and making standard route on the return trip, and later dropping gold route into regular route(RP, market being fed up) with goal of making players start using the route and hoping some of them will stick to it later.

I saw you walking down the streat, your eyes, your lips, your nose, everything was so perfect. I started singing "who let the dogs out."
