I think Zombies are just a metaphore that pictures braindead people with little to no resources. In many countries education has dropped so badly, and drug abuse has risen so impressively, that after some years, a critic mass of undereductated vicious people will be reached, and we'll have a true zombie holocaust. That is, hordes of people with nothing to lose and nothing to care.

The zombie aspect is just a pop culture thing. If zombies weren't popular these days, the face eating would be equated to something else. If it happened in the 90's, people would think of Hannibal the Cannibal. If it happened in the 80's, people would blame Devil Worshipers. (I can't say what people would've gravitated to in the last decade, nothing really stands out as a pop example) ::shrug::

Daedric hit the bulls-eye though. It's just an odd happening that the networks jumped onto in order to sensationalize for ratings.

I miss the good 'ol days when you heard stories of Satanic Cannibals on PCP jumping off rooftops thinking they could fly like zombies...and yes, zombies can fly

Good times. Good times

Pffffft I am a cinema student and belong to a pagan cult and I tell you they don't. One does not just make zombies fly.

Ive seen 2 zombie viodeos in my life.I am pretty sceptic about once but the other is real.
REAL "zombies' exist pretty much like you and me...they are simply humans with no logical/moral reflexes...and they are somewhere close to vegetative state...only the need of feding persists...only to survive they know. One way to be come a zombie is to eat an puffer fish...the puffer fish has a very toxic neurochimical that will render you brain dead if it isnt prepered corectly...the only place that you can eat that fish is in japan/china...the cook will slice a very thin pice of meat that contains a very low amount of poison, enaugh to tingle your mouth and not kill you.Usualy when that chemical is to high will render you brain dead but it is posible to survive...but all you mental functions will cease to exist and you will turn into an mindless human

And the thing i am sceptic...i saw a military footage in rusia where a man was schreded by some humans... if you will like to see that just as for a link and i will search it (forgot the site)

I am not a cinema student & I say that I agree 100%

It's the wings they can sprout from their spine that make them fly. Don't be such a skeptic Dude! Just because there's no horror movies that document that particular skill, it doesn't mean they can't do it!!

& Sajj: About the puffer fish thing...Tetrodotoxin cannot render a person brain dead or zombified if they survive the poisoning. If they live past the 24-hour threshold, after about a week of recovery, they can live the rest of their lives w/o residual effects.

If you're thinking of the Haitian zombie ritual, it ain't the poison that zombifies the recipient, but more likely the brain damage resulting from live burial...& even that is horribly misrepresented by media. It's mostly just flash. Vodoun practitioners believe there are thousands of 'zombies' in Haiti that happen to lead perfectly normal lives.

Margurg i must dissagree...a over dose of that toxing will bring you into a comatose state and even "kill" you .. i read of many cases of posioning with that thing and many even "died" and awaken in a purley vegetative state there are even of some cases wehere the person was buried and was dug up because of strange sound coming from the ground...he was alive but brain dead

Ps:The brain is the only organ that cannot heal itslef..it cap patch up by istself but no tissue regeneration so if its dammaged it will lose that part of it forever.More...if the brain is starved from oxigem for 10 minutes several nuclei and nerveous centers will cease to exist thus rendering that person incapable of doing basic motor fuction or even think
