Time spent on joining totally depends on you. If you are focused on it and are skilled, you can get in pretty fast. I spent 30 minutes RPing and other 10 minutes posting application, only to be accepted 2 minutes after posting it.
IMO, Nomads going open would be a disaster, doesn't matter how much restrictions there are. As much as everyone thinks that Nomads are pure PvP faction, we try to focus on RP and not on rampages around Sirius.
And let's face it: RPing a Nomad is not easy, imagine ppl going around in Marduks and killing other Marduks or allying with someone just to gank someone else. Not cool.

I think the fear that they will spill out of those systems is exagerated. People who break rules break rules in every other faction they are in. A nomad out of his ZOI is the most easy to report and prove violation there is. If you are still fearful, I wonder if a powercore nerf can be made to depend in what system the person using the ID is in.
That solution is far too complicated, and would require time and effort currently not available - it is being spent on getting the next mod version out, and then will be spent on the version after that.

Enjoy the job Igiss gave you, you're going to be there for a while.
They seem to have enough time to make powernerfs individual for every faction and giving them special nerfs of their choosing (what was it.. 4 allies per ID?), instead of just making it 75% for everyone and be done with it.
But making 1 ID give you a nerf in all but 4 systems is too much work?

k.
I never said it wasn't possible, just that they have other priorities.
I kinda agree with the TS. The Nomads have always been FL's main antagonsit. And they did a pretty good job of being so. Now they've all but disappeared and have been replaced by some French house with the most shoddy background story Ive seen in a while.
'West Sirius' has the GRN as its main enemy now. nothing we can do about that. but give 'east sirius' the Nomads back. I miss the encounters in the Omies. a lot.
You bumped that thread again? Well I will then quote myself cuz I havent received any strong answers to what I said before few days:
Quote:The faction offers training for the morphs. Any morphs interested to join are tested only in their way of RP which leads to approved nomad players able to RP properly. Its not hard and actually its very interesting. Last time when such training happened we were 2 K'Hara and 3 morphs doing a trip together: RP-ing with anyone, giving a chance for the moprhs to learn how to talk, giving them tips what to change and what to keep, and PVP-ing right next to them.
So in short here is what the faction can offer:
- Morph (Tutorial), which is something new and no other closed faction can offer that
- Training, which allows every interested morhp player to learn while doing actions with Khara player
- Recruitment, which if the training is complete, the morph player is fully ready to become a Khara with skills, original RP, creativity and much more. All that will help him and the faction to spread the unique RP of the nomads all over Sirius in a appropriate way.
If you dont like such kind of treatment and tutorial then what do you want? The only thing I see that I am missing are the nomad ship/equipments. Is that all about?
So? What more you want? The faction is ready and waiting for you but the thing is those of you that really want to be nomads ...for unknown reasons dont want to join the already existing faction. This is not [Random] faction which have ranks and restrictions to caps for example, you have access to all ships if you are approved that is why there is no need for indie caps like all other factions. What then?
I wouldn't mind to encounter the odd nommie. What I -am- worried about is people who will use these for OORP purposes to attack specific players or groups of players. License to pew anything with above average tools is a griever's dream...
