Interesting, though when you say 'caps' I assume you mean the lighter caps, because I don't know how useful it would be in a nephilim. In the past I've just sent my engine kill and drifted sideways and then focused in trying to hit the enemy.

Elaborate on how to use turret zoom effectively? For clarity lets start with saying that the default view is you looking over the shoulder of your ship in third person view, and the enemy is off in the background, and you're shooting away from the camera towards the enemy. Is the point of turret zoom so that you can zoom way out, putting the enemy between your ship and the camera?

This seems of questionable value. Now you're shooting towards the camera if you're on target, but if you're off target you're going to be shooting off in the opposite direction from the target, off into space. In the standard view, at least all of your fire is going in the general direction of the target.

Typical Disco. Receive whining on Skype that gunboats are overpowered and fighters can't deal with them anymore - and go on the forum and receive whining that gunboats are underpowered and are useless.

Sounds to me they're perfect as is - everyone's unhappy with them. :laugh:

What made you think so?

Yes, many ships could have a lack of balance, but not lack of use.
However, skill determin great factor of succes. Its normal, that 3 skilled fighter pilots took down a gunship.
They worked as team, they knew way how to deal with it and gunship, brobably had unbalanced weapon settup or other factor. Same as, skilled gunship pilot can bet 2-3 fighters.

So, dont think that there is still any point to discus this qestion. If gunships were truely useless, noone would fly them. :laugh:

If you cant fly GB- dont do it. making thread that GBs are bad is most stupid thing I saw.
what next? VHFs are usless? LF are usless? stop QQ and improve your skills

As most everything in disco, everything in fairly well balanced, just different.

Once you get used to how a ship flies, you can kill it easier, and fly it easier. It's all about what you know.

Gunboats underpowered? I would dare to say it's even the other way around. They eat snubs easily with turretsteering and still have good performance against transports. For pirates there is nothing better, because you need at least two good bombers to take one out.

I think the shields need a nerf, actually I feel like they recieved another - very much unnecessary - buff. They come up very fast again and regenerated unbelievable fast. I can understand that they should be good against snubs, but at the moment they are even good "all-round", which is what other ships were not allowed to be (like a BS with usefull snub defense. Or a cruiser with snub defense).

So I ask, can the Devs please cut down the GBs shields? Or finally give the transports a buff in survivability - aka give them some more shield power. Sorry to say that, but at the moment the GB line is the most unblanced out of all.
