Can RM reach New York within reasonable RP, NO, they cant....
Can LN reach New Berlin within reasonable RP, NO THEY CANT
Can KNF reach New London within reasonable RP, NO they cant....
Can BAF reach New Tokyo within reasonable RP, NO THEY CANT
SO WHY CAN EVERYONE, SEEMINGLY WITHIN REASONABLE RP GO INTO THE MOST PROTECTED SYSTEMS OF OUTCASTS AND CORSAIRS?????
Makes no sense...
Previously, i tought of/suggested this, dunno if the thread got locked or not.... MAKE THESE SYSTEMS "INPETETRABLE"....
CR/IMG shouldnt even within the most ridiculous form of RP reach Alpha, not even the Alpha JH in T37. All lore is stacked against them...
Corsairs and Outcasts alike shouldnt be able to just "cruise past" the battlefront in Eta. It's not supposed to be possible...
Hessians, indeed numerous, should have no inRP power to penetrate Gamma....
WHY is it that ALL houses has enough RP, and Base/weapon platform defences to fend off ANY intruder from entering the core system, while the TWO STRONGEST UNLAWFUL FACTIONS, FACTIONS ABLE TO CHALLENGE A HOUSE cant even protect themselves from a RAIDING PARTY much less and invasion force...???
I DONT CARE, I SUGGEST, THAT IN 4.86.1 WE ADD WEAPON PLATFORMS WITH THE FOLLOWING WEAPONS:
2x 8.33 REFIRE LM
8.33 REFIRE TRAIN CD TURRETS
2x 8.33 REFIRE BS PULSES
4x BS SOLARIS
4x Cruiser Missile Turret
And give them enough HP to withstand 5 heavy mortars
WHY?
Because like grimly pointed out, IT IS NO FUN WHEN THIS BULL**** HAPPENS.
It is no fun, undocking from gamma with 8 SCRA ships and 4 hessian cruisers shooting at you with no more RP then "Look, theres another one, SHOOOT EEEET"...
Or 8 Solaris ossies and 5 legates camping Malta with even less of a engagement notice....
Wanna talk about reports? about sanctioning?.... Why must the players who play the BIGGEST AND STRONGEST unlawful factions use severe punishment, punishment that is in my eyes, on a personal level rather then a RP level....
Outcast and Corsairs shouldn't be left with the ONLY one solution they have ATM.... You all cry "Report for 0.0".... HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SOMEONE BEEN REPORTED FOR THAT AND PUNISHED FOR IT??!
These weapon platforms, they should take about 15 minutes to make, WP platforms exist ingame, maybe you must add 2-3 more weapon slots, WHO CARES, still not a big deal.... placing two of them at all entry holes in gamma/alpha. NO BIG DEAL...
Whats the profit?
People can roleplay within risking being dock killed, ganked and utterly raped by forces, that shouldnt be there in the first place.
There is no way in hell anyone can make up any RP, that justifies 6 light and 4 heavy battleships sneaking into your home system unharmed and undetected.
NO RM fleet has any RP backing to enter NY without total anhialation before arriving... RM would be massacred even before they had past Sugarland in Texas... Thats even a OORP fact... how often does RM raids MAKE it to the planet? like 1/20?
RM shouldnt ever be able to enter NY, KNF shouldnt ever be able to enter NL. There is no RP that supports such military fleet battles to happen. Just as all lore and RP dictates that both Outcast and Corsairs has an iron grip around their core systems...
If you want to ask WHY this is neccesary... well let me enlighten you... Raids are all fun and that, the first hour or so.... then when the victor emerges and use the next 2-3 hours CAMPING your planet with battleships... something that would never happen inRP... ruining all RP interactions with those hubs.
The corsairs are just as guilty of entering home systems as anbody else.
What about corsair lolfleets entering New London?

Because the, almost, only thing you do in Omicron as Outcasts, Sairs or Hessians - Raid or defend from the raid.
Remove that, and you'll kill it. Or, more likely, make 1123342 outcast and sair caps visit edge/border/independant systems instead. Do you really want that?
Why not ETA/Theta? Because raids are spontaneous. Noone plans em before. Not much people care about Ocies/Sairs in ETA/Theta, they log in when those come to Alpha/Gamma.
Want another example? Forbid BHG Core and Navy from entering Omicron Minor. While Navy, most likely, will find more things to do.... what will happen to the Core?
I'd say, leave omicrons as is. Huge capfleet battles make this game fun and entertaining for both sides
IF you get yourself killed in Legate in Gamma - its your fault. I always keep an eye on enemy force position on the field - and when I fail with it, I die. It's the most important skill for the battleship captain - to have a clue on what is currently going on on the battlefield. Also, I have my retreat WP on O91 jumphole.
And yeah, when you're logging in, and you see that huge enemy fleet is in system, ALWAYS ask for clarification to undock. IF you see a huge enemy fleet and noone from your side - why in hell would you ever try to undock? I wouldn't.
Hope that helps you to get used to harsh environment of Omicrons. They are dangerous. :)
EDIT: Although, I wouldn't mind placing few BScerberus-armed killable weapon platforms at Crete and Malta docking rings, just 0.5-1k from them. Otherwise these 2 planets seem kinda... defenseless.
' Wrote:One thing I have noticed, being on both sides of this conflict, is that the group attacking are always having fun. They laugh in group chat even if their attacks fail, knowing full well the other side will attack them in return, almost anticipating it.
Players who are used to it, they have fun. If you are too fragile to be there, move to a more controlled enviroment like the Liberty-Rheinland zone.
People need places to plot out tactical attacks and places to simply go banana crazy. Both Alpha/Gamma and House/House wars deliver their respective offers, it is up to the player to chose the zone they wish to be in, depending on their mood.
Nothing good has happened by making every place of Sirius the same, when it comes to engagement areas. It only makes things dull, and, frankly. Watching a fleet of bombers undock to the fleet of battlebricks on either side is always an amazing sight.
There needs to be variety.
Sometime during my 2 years here at disco, the fun of raiding gamma/alpha disappeared...

boy, Core wouldnt be affected... all you need to do for some action in Delta is log in with anything tagged Order|, Keepers| or BHG|Core....
Any three of those tags is more then enough to create alot of action. Be it if core can enter minor or not...
Gamma without action is dead system. If you want to be 'safe' use one of your guard systems instead. As mentioned earlier, indies will just move one system closer to enemy.
Why kill one of the most fun parts of these factions? Like Spazzy said, the people doing them are always having fun. It doesn't matter whether you are the one raiding or the defender. If that isn't your thing don't get involved. You can always put a ship somewhere else to avoid it.
Everyone says Eta can't be removed...how about we do the next best thing? BLOCK ALL ACCESS TO IT. In the days before the release of the mod version which will close Eta, post a server message telling all ships to leave Eta by whatever date the mod version will be released. Then, completely block the jump holes into Eta by putting an impenetrable minefield around the jump holes. The minefields don't have to be big. The mines just have to be close enough together to prevent ships from squeezing through the gaps between the mines.
If I'm not mistaken, this would require much less work and still effectively remove Eta from any RP interactions, bringing the fights back into the Sigmas.
