why in last time i meet more and more traders with zoner ID and theie think that zoner ID make them immune to pirates?
when i see zoner tagged ship with zoner id,then yes i will not pirate him.but when i meet police, bowex, samura or other tagget ships with zoenr id,why not?
example:i was trying to demand some money from bowex tagget trader and his answer was:i am peacefully zoenr now.when i say him that i see bowex tag not zoner and still i will have money,he answer you will that all zoners in sirius will hutn you?
people wake up please, when you try to play as zoners make your ships zoner tagged, not all tags in sirius and say that i am zoner...

zoners are not immune to pirating - it depends a little on what they trade. -

if you catch a zoner with artifacts and a traderoute that brings needed stuff to crete, you should not pirate him - cause it would be retarded...

BUT if you see a zoner bringing ... slaves /bi***** to malta and taking cardamine back - hell, blow him up. ( unless you re an outcast, then it would ... again be retarded:laugh:)

As far as I'm concerned, speaking as an independent Zoner trader, if they aren't both tagged and ID'd as a Zoner, they're fair game.

Edit: I agree with Jinx. If they're doing something obviously contrary to your faction's interests (like if you're a Corsair and find a Zoner hauling cardamine, or you're an Outcast and find one hauling artifacts), then go ahead and pirate them.

I'll just second what Drake said. People can't just go buy a Zoner ID and be immune to pirating...that's a cheap tactic. Wanna be a Zoner? Then get the bloody Zoner double bribe, walk the walk, and THEN you get to call yourself a Zoner.

Global, you did the right thing.:P

I was fairly annoyed that chap dragged you through (at least) two systems on the premise of being a Zoner...true zoners have zoner tags...end of story

As far as I'm concerned, even fully tagged and IDd Zoners are open targets to pirates. Its up to their defenders to stop the pirate. Thats what escorts are for. Sure, AW will help Zoner-IDd ships if they are being pirated, and will help any traders being pirated in Theta for obvious reasons. Though if we see a Zoner-IDd ship with some stupid tag like Corsair, or Outcast, or Republican Shipping.. They are fair game. I'd regard them as people who put Zoner paint jobs on their ships, while their IFF still shows their true faction alignment.

If someone makes a habit of attacking/pirating Zoners (real Zoners), then it should be possible to ban him from access to Zoner bases (make it OORP for them to do so), or have his Zoner Rep set to red. Zoners may be neutral and Freeports open to all, but not those stupid enough to attack them.

I will have to agree that the Zoner ID has become rather a "catch-all" for those expecting a free pass from pirates. It's pretty hard work keeping that Zoner reppie, and it's rather a smack in the face to those of us who have invested the time and money to maintain a Zoner IFF.

So, you will not find the TAZ actively protecting or condoning these "Faux Zoners". In fact, we get rather "Podgy" with them verbally when we encounter them. As to gaining a Zoner rep; there is information on the forums concerning the process. Unless a player expresses a sincere interest in roleplaying a true Zoner, and agrees to become a "registered" Zoner, the TAZ will no longer take them by the hand and point them to the "True Light".

I also agree with Brother Drake that one's being "anti-Zoner" should result in suffering the consequences of one's actions. The loss of Freeport/Planet docking rights would indeed be a fitting consequence.

Mal, for us guys.
