it comes to flying the big mothers.

We don't have much common sense on Disco these days I'm afraid...:(

We do have torches and pitchforks though. Not as good, but you've got to work with what you've got.

Common sense falls under the 'let's do nothing' category. Everyone has a different view of what is 'common sense', so we can't rely on it. I know my idea of common sense doesn't always match up with that of other players or even the Admins.

...the 'let's do nothing' category means that, if current trends are correct, the Gaians will own half a dozen (hidden) shipyards churning out various battleships withn the next few months.

If the Gaians have half a dozen, then the Bundschuh, Farmers Alliance, Gaians, and Xenos could band together using their 24 hidden shipyards to rule all of Sirius with their collective iron fist...

No? I don't have a BS. The list of ships I have is short: Falcata, Sabre, Firefly. I get pwned. A lot. Not by BSs, I rarely see 'em, but by GBs. I don't see a problem with the |337 pwnzor-noob warriors that roll around Sirius in their various overpowered battleships until such powers as Liberty, Bretonia, Rheinland, and Kusari capitulate to their |337 n00bn355; I say let 'em. Who wants to make the popcorn; it'd be one helluva show.

I hope all of you saw the BLATANT SARCASM tags around that last paragraph, though I have to admit, seeing a fleet of noob BSs floating around Sirius and demanding that everyone bow before them would be funny to watch, and would make a great movie...

Thats a good idea Zapp, but I dont have enough hard disc space to store THAT movie. I only have 50 gigs remaining.

While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack

Life cycle of a Discovery member (don't deny you all have been through at least some of this:)

I. Sensory overload
-want to see and try every ship in the mod not found in the original game
-want to see every system

II. Toy envy
-sees a ship they want to own and decide to buy it before ever dreaming up a character
-names the ship the same as their forum ID
-changes ID/tag at least twice

III. Boredom, possibly followed by multiple cases of Toy envy
-aimless traveling from system to system, towards large groups of players.
-attempts to interact with other role players that end in flames.
-overtures to player factions that go something like: "Available cruiser pilot looking for a faction!"

IV. The First Successful role play event. (Some people never experience this, and either get stuck in an endless cycle of I-III or leave the community.)
-Whoa, there's more to this game than ships
-whoa, this is like a movie I'm helping write
-wow this is really cool.

The more good role play we have going on the server at any one time, the more people we will convert.

The cap whore targets are those that jump on the server, trade till they have a capship, load it out with a cookie cutter and hunt fighters. They then show up in threads yelling at people that suggest changes that could end up effecting cap ships, or they just stay off the forums completely and stick to prawning people ingame. They lack rp reasons for what they fly, how they fly it, or even why they fly it.

The people that do have a good reason for their cap ships deserve to keep them. You lot have consistently flown the big boys respectfully, and fairly. What aggravates the fighter pilots, is when people buy capships because they do not want to put the effort into learning how to fly a fighter in pvp. Not the people that just don't like fighter combat, the people that forgo fighter combat because they know they can win using a capship.

Abusing the system, for ship silhouette on their hull.

I dont care if the good capship pilots that consistently fly capships even own one fighter. As long as they use their capship correctly, and not as some cheap victory they are not the target of the debate.

Pretty much like what has been said already:D

Today i had the honour to take a look into MP. Yes Ladies and gents i have done it. No need to bow your heads.
There was a bit of trafic in Liberty. The only PC BS i have seen was a Lib Dread owned by LSF.

After all what i have read about the Capwhoring (terrible word) i have expected to see more. I have seen my Zoner Dessie and a Corsair Ided Corsair Cruiser, which i personally had no problem with, because i have seen another one of my model. And i have seen a third one. An Thor MKII, which has not killed the corsair cruiser instantly, which i was happy with.

I will get more experiences, when i will leave Liberty soon.

I was more concerned about how many players comitted suizide. If they do so, they should be banned automatically for 24 hours.

Respectfully
AoM

Zapp is right, there is much more gunship whoring around then bs whoring.
And it is not the PVP aspect that worries me about the battleships.
But, is it logical for a pirate faction to have more battleships then the navy?
And now, even 2 different battleships? Only liberty navy (Yes, that's the strongest one in game) had 2 BSs, and it was ok.
But no one can explain me how can a pirate faction have 2 BS models, while big Houses have only 1.
It's not common sense.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.

Can't let you bash folks in your sig Chopper-Del
