Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Touch the ground.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Turn around.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Show your shoe.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
That will do.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Run upstairs.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Say your prayers.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Blow out the light.
Teddy bear, Teddy bear,
Say good night.
I'm glad he was afforded the opportunity to put his affairs in order. I hope he passed in peace.
I always find myself unable to say anything which seems adequate at moments like this, so often I don't say anything at all...
Words are generally inadequate to describe loss. It's something which is felt in the pit of your stomach, deeper than an intellectualised collection of sentences can show.
Brendan was a good person. Kind, honest, thoughtful and considerate. He managed to be those things without losing a sense of fun. That's rare, and something to be remembered and cherished. Perhaps it's something that we could aspire to be as well.
Brendan I only knew you a little but the times I had with you were great. You had a great sense of humor and I have experienced that with you personally. The little time I got to know you was great. I remember being involved in a joke with you, on the server asking me to officiate the marriage between you and another player. I can say this without regret that it was because of you that I kept playing on the server. You inspired me to have a fun time and not get personal when a pirate pirated me, and I can say the same for other infuriating moments. You will be remembered Brendan, and the discovery community won't be the same without you. Rest in peace.
Even though I didn't know you too well, I saw you around, as well as Joe I am mostly speechless in these situations so I'm just going to say a few words.
May you rest in peace friend, I wish the best of luck to your family. And as donar said, I wish I known you better, I've heard you were one of the best, kind people around. Once again Rest In Peace.
I knew Bear fairly well, not as well as other people might have, but still well enough to call him my friend. I first met him when i first joined [The_Angels] a little over a year ago. I had the privilege of having the strangest conversations in the angels chat, which at the time was one of the spammiest chats in all of disco. I still remember the day when he was complaining about the heat in Australia, apparently it was so bad that he wasn't wearing any clothes. From that day forward i would periodically mock him that he was my favourite naked Australian. When he was the head of the Angels, he lead us with firm leadership, making us post in the faction message dump so that we could share our experiences with the rest of the community. He would post in the message dump after all of us complimenting us with his unique "I love all of Disco" attitude. I got the chance to do a few 'shifts' as we called them in them in the angels, passing the time together in space helping each other along the way. When I was facing one of the toughest times in my life, a day i still look back at with regret, it was Bear and a few others that helped me through it, without them i doubt i would be in the right mental state, or even still alive to write this message today.
I will never forget the times we had together Bear, you will be missed.
He shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary him, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember him.
