I have been looking into creating a house military charecter and I was just wondering how the RP looked for the different houses. I know Reihnland and Liberty are at war, as well as Bretonia and Kusari...I was just wondering about how the wars are playing out in RP as well as how to RP in the diferent houses. Thanks for any input.
Well most of the wars so far have been a series of player "raids" very little actual RP goes into it. Recently there were some active changes in order to give us a taste of what the next version of the mod will be.
My advice to you; Create an independent character (or an indie as we call it) hang around the official factions and see what they do thus choosing the one that appeals to you before applying for an official faction
What military RP lacks is an objective. There simply is none, other than finding the enemy and shooting at it till one of you explode.
Some sort of solution might be micro-events, - that is, one side comes up with an idea of what they want do/should do (like raid an installation, patrol a border, support a frontline base etc.), and make a post/thread on forum about it about an hour or two before they start moving. That gives the opposing side more than enough time to get around to gather something provide some opposing force.
Meh, I should've probably left the explanation to when I'm not falling dead asleep, but anyway....
thanks...as far as the faction RP goes. I know what nations the different factions are(Germany, Briton, US....) I was wondering how much of that came through in game...Like are Liberty and Brettonia allies kinda ;like how US and Briton are....and does the player RP come off as the same (Bretonia fighting for the crown while Liberty claim to be fighting for freedom and independance...) I wsa already planning on building in something for my character where even days before hand I would write in a log where he had "recieved orders" of what areas and sectors he would go on patrol in, especially after getting a gunboat or larger, with permision.
You can always go hunt the local Pirate/terrorist players of that house. Chances you get some Teamplay action fast are much higher with that than with house-house fleet battles that occure 1-2 times a week highout if atall (exept some official event is on for some days).
1. Wait for pirates or hostile military to show up
2. Ask them to leave
3. They won't
4. Pew
There are some vey fine differences between the (expected) behaviour of the different militaries, it all comes down to the same though.
Bretonia: Slightly more defensive and polite.
Rheinland: Agressive
Kusari: Racist, agressive
Liberty: Determined to win at all costs *cough* SEND IN ALL THE CAPS *cough*
And last but not least: GRN. Arrogant and... wait for it... Agressive?
Wide awake in a world that sleeps, enduring thoughts, enduring scenes. The knowledge of what is yet to come.
From a time when all seems lost, from a dead man to a world, without restraint, unafraid and free.
Mostly retired Discovery member. May still visit from time to time.
They're shat all over, particularly by the officials but everyone basically discredits them.
Agreed, the only indies that I know of that aren't treated in a such a direct derogatory manner, are the RNC. AS they've got the advantage of being known to be slightly more RP oriented, unlike the LNS or the Order and their 9000 Osiris's around Toledo.
