Civilization 3 (Long games, and careful play takes some time to get used to)
Stronghold Crusader/Stronghold 2 (Castle sim/RTS with focus upon economy/ Castle building while having a really nice strategy element)
Warzone 2100 (An open source game, lots of tech, I think maybe over 200 tech items. Gameplay tends to be drawn out, and 'spammy' in the sense of massive unit combat)

:lol::lol::lol:

Finished five times.
Also BFME 2, similar result. The game is way way way way (x100) easy even on hard.

I can second this game, Its quite addictive but very time consuming cause it takes forever to complete all the research. The best thing is designing tanks from wheels to full track, light/medium/heavy/fire resistant chassies and cannon/rocket pod/mashine gun/ flamer turrets, just to name a few.
Gameplay is similar to AOE

Honestly, I just build Earth Shakers as fast as I can to stop rushes, then spam the heaviest tank:D

as I said, the gameplay is still pretty bloody good ;D esp. in multiplayer.

At the moment I'm getting my strategy fix with a bit of HoI3 some Shogun 2 Total War, and the odd smattering of C&C Tiberian Sun.

HoI3 - Nicely slow burning grand strategy.

Shogun 2 - Excellent multiplayer battles (even if creative assembly seem intent on messing up the unit balance).

Tib Sun - Classic, well balanced, good community of folks making it playable after Westwood Studios (and thus their support) ceased to exist.
