United Caron's

The Unione Corse is a highly organized criminal group that follows traditions of the Corsican mafia of Earth, known for strict secrecy among its members, and access to nearly limitless resources, including support of high-ranked government officials. In recent decades, Corse have increased their expansion in space and established connections with Gallic Brigands and, to a lesser extent, with the Maquis. Despite their close, often personal ties with Brigands, Unione Corse don't trust other pirate groups much and deal with them only out of necessity, in some cases acting as bounty hunters and taking out the most dangerous pirates by request of their government protectors or corporate sponsors.

Unione Corse history:

From the day that Gallia began to develop in all directions, crime was inevitably. At the beginning "Langlois" family was the first one in the field who wanted to exploit various illegal markets. However, there is no record of any first founder but it is suspected that it was the most influential man in that period, "Jean Langlois". Shortly afterwards the Langlois family started to work with the Caron family, though the exact date will continue to be unknown. Planet New Paris was the start of all criminal operations but all that changed when the criminal families were expelled by the Gallic Royal Police because of illegal activities. Langlois were blood-thirsty for power and credits with little to no care for others. When the first conflict between the families began, it awas because that the moral code that both fmilies vowed on the start of their partnership was broken which then escalated in to open warfare. Afterwards the Caron family had gained control of illegal movement of goods with in Gallic space from the Langlois family in 170. AGS. In public they became known as Unione Corse developing along with everyone else as time went by and expanded into all the populated planets of Gallia.

About Caron Family:

There are many families and organizations who are willing to take illegal jobs in Gallic space. Caron was one of them hiding behind the publicaly named Unione Corse. In their long history the Caron family worked only with commodities that were prohibitted by law. There is only one boss and his decision must be respected or be cast aside, commonly ending in death. Almost every boss in the family tradition used their radical measures against traitors, family, business partners and even on people who knew to much. They got respect from all the other Corse families by fear. Anyone who opposed them was in a dangerous situation of being tortured and brutally murdered. In public "Caron" is known as respectable family guided by a moral code that is mannered with the gentlemanly attitude. The Patron of the Family has one man he can trust above all others with in his ranks and he may or may not be family member. He is always the Patrons aid in all matters and the only person that the Patron would take counsul with. Family member's can be chosen as not every man has Caron blood in his body. A chosen family member must show loyalty that has no end and he must be ready to die for the family.

I can't actually see what you are attempting to give as feedback Nikita. Prehaps making a more clearer post of what you wish to say is better.

They're trying to understand why I told them the Corse are neutral to the Lawfuls, mostly.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Another Union Corse faction that is hostile to the Crown? Come on, you are supposed to be neutral at least.

Ok, odd.

Corse are criminals in the eyes of the Crown. Their own activities make that clear. Also the NPC relation of the Corse is Hostile to the Crown. Remember Corse are an unlawfull faction in Gallia, and thus would be treated openly as any other criminal would. And not all Corsicians will like being treated like that. It is like saying, where the term Corisician came from, that the French Connection was very polite to Americian Officers when their Drugs were confisicated by americian authorities. No, they would make sure that the Officers did not get the drugs, resulting in firefights. It would also be like saying that the Mafia in the 20-30's wouldn't shoot an officer if that officier wasn't on their payroll or is attempting a case against them. (Mafia style of rule was used by the French Connection, as well as other Gangs that are known today as Corsician Families.)

[color=#FFFFFF]Think of it this way, if the crown pays us ****loads of dough to take out say the CR we will do it, this doesn't make us friends with them or anything because tomorrow somebody might offer more money to take out the crown. The GRP sees us husteling a trader we give a tasty sum of money they look away while we do our thing. The only people we don't go against no matter what are the brigands. That's how I see it. At least from the [UC] point of view

you made an excelent point kind sir "on their payrolll" wich could make them Neutral because for example the family in the godfather... are they hunted by the police? yes but they dont know "who" exactly they are or are bribed so neutral...

Not odd, but have fun ignoring the best part of UC gameplay and that is the slight line between being hunted criminals and honorable business men, this way.

Yes to work out how the Corse work is to basically look at Corsician Gangs, the French Connection and Mafia's have worked in the past, and still do now.

For the most part they will try to make sure their operations are insight of their customers, but not those that are looking to bring down that operation. They will also go at great lenghs to bribe Police, Armed Force's, Lawyers, Press, Mayor's, basically anyone with any kind of power that is usefull to them.

But when their is those that come knocking wanting to bring down their operations it usually ends in bloodshed of one form or another. (Assassination, intimidation, assault, kidnap, bomb, torch, smash, any kind of medium or high crime)

With other gangs, traditionally Mafia styled organisations tend to avoid/deal with them where it benifits them. Though generally avoid unless they are wanting to make a lucrative deal with each other. Once another gang starts stepping on their turf it usually turns to violence. (Stepping on ones turf by meaning is of, taking a cut out of profits out of a shop that you was collecting money from. All the way to killing a couple low level members or damage to ones own operations.)

Edit: @Jansen: You seem to me to not to have a keen knowledge of Corsician gangs, for which they are just a Mafia. The term Corse and Corsician was made by the Americians. And I am a Mafia film and historian nut. (Not so on individual gangsters, but on organisation and how they approach things.)
