A conversation from August with Cannon regarding tech...
[8/14/2011 11:12:08 PM] Matt (Cannon): I guess I can phrase the answer another way.
[8/14/2011 11:12:30 PM] Matt (Cannon): SRPs are coming back but approval from admins or anybody is not required.
[8/14/2011 11:13:05 PM] Caleb Levesque: Ah... so will there be a criteria to fill out then you just post it into the SRP section?
[8/14/2011 11:33:01 PM] Matt (Cannon): No
[8/14/2011 11:33:04 PM] Matt (Cannon): Nothing.
[8/14/2011 11:33:10 PM] Matt (Cannon): Do whatever you like.
[8/14/2011 11:34:31 PM] Caleb Levesque: strange....
[8/14/2011 11:35:05 PM] Caleb Levesque: it will be a madhouse :|
[8/14/2011 11:35:39 PM] Matt (Cannon): Freedom.
[8/14/2011 11:36:07 PM] Caleb Levesque: you think that'll be for the better?
[8/14/2011 11:36:18 PM] Matt (Cannon): Yes
[8/14/2011 11:36:45 PM] Caleb Levesque: there will still be ID restrictions and a tech chart? or no?
[8/14/2011 11:36:59 PM] Matt (Cannon): ID restrictions yes, tech chart no, not really.
[8/14/2011 11:37:29 PM] Matt (Cannon): We are really getting off track. I'm not actually telling you the whole story.
[8/14/2011 11:37:45 PM] Caleb Levesque: ah... so theres more?
[8/14/2011 11:37:48 PM] Matt (Cannon): Will SRPs reopen = no never.
[8/14/2011 11:37:54 PM] Matt (Cannon): This is 100% true.
[8/14/2011 11:38:41 PM] Caleb Levesque: so pretty much.. anyone who can come up with a RP story will have nomnom guns and inferno's?
I really think the trailer could have been scripted much better, and honestly, the voice sounded like a reject from a "IN A WORLD ... ONE MAN ..." sort of trailer scheme because of it. It makes little sense, but the music, and array of units/stations presented was great. The end of it seemed too rushed and just 'cut' without warning. Also, simply stating "DISCUVERY EXSAILS" at the ends seemed a little ... Er. I'm not sure of the right word, but I'd say both badly worded and way too excessive.
Bad trailer is bad. Good release will be good though, here's hoping, anyway.
teaser [ˈtiːzə]
2. (Business / Marketing) a preliminary advertisement in a campaign that attracts attention by making people curious to know what product is being advertised
trailer [ˈtreɪlə]
3. (Performing Arts) a series of short extracts from a film, used to advertise it in a cinema or on television
Just saying...
Anyway, like everybody else I can't wait to see what's coming our way and I wanna thank everyone who made it possible
Fair enough Vito. Again though, all my points still stand, though yes, teaser should have been the word I used. The same general presentation standards would still apply, even to a shorter 'teaser' as opposed to a trailer. In fact, it has to be better, considering the fact that they have less time to evoke a positive or at least interested reaction from an audience.
I loved the fact the music was written specifically for the teaser. That in itself is quite a feat. Voice acting was good too!
A teaser isn't really supposed to give you anything, just get you thinking about the release date.
Nice!

Are you serious?
That's just like it was years ago, remember, when anything that was white on the tech chart you could basically write a biography esque story on how you got it and then it'd be yours and all good.
That's like... The best.
Oh right, from August. That's like an eternity ago compared to now :L
Eh, either way 4.86 will breath new life into this withering and dying community.
' Wrote:Soon It will be "SERVER FULL" time again:)) I never thought I would say this but I miss the "Server Full" mesage
I second that!
Simply speaking, I'd like to thank all the people involved in any way in making 4.86, thank You for Your time, Your attitude and for using Your abilities to create a dream like this. Respect.
