Vladimir wondered if David had failed to notice his request or if some kind of fear was finally beginning to set in. Ignoring David's question, Vladimir spoke loudly, but deliberately.
"My. Desk. David." He ended with a sigh, looking down at his hands, wondering if smacking sense into the applicants before they arrived would ever help.
While Ivan was contemplating and pondering about what could await him in this room, he perceived a few loud and strong words from a man inside the office. "Strange... no deafening shooting yet?" Ivan thought to himself and he couldn't believe his own humorous remark at this moment. Throwing a glance at all the other men before him, filled with fear, the awe and anguish burnt in their faces, Ivan then closed his eyes, attempting to sense what was happening inside this fateful room.
Vladimir placed his hands on the arms of his chair, bringing himself to a standing position, facing David while he palmed his Zenith and pulled it from the desk. Taking slow calculated steps, Vladimir walked around the desk until he was mere inches from David, and places the barrel of the pistol against the underside of his chin.
"Are you still willing to offer anything?" Vladimir questioned with a smirk.
Everything came up to David. He felt the fear, he was scared. However, he had his mind clear and tried to stay calm, even if he was sweating a little. He quietly answered.
"Very good, that's what I like to hear," he said dryly.
Vladimir managed a sort of half smile, moving the gun from David's chin directly, to having the barrel placed directly in his view. He was sure David could see straight down the barrel itself.
"Your promise is my eye, and I'm sure you know where yours is."
Without much warning, the Commissar quickly turned around, and walked quietly to his desk, leaving David frozen there. He pushed a small stack of papers towards the edge of his desk for David to take, and sat his pistol flat on the desk.
"If you go back on your word again, I'll show you the meaning of an eye for an eye, now come get your papers."
The relief on David's face could've been seen. After a few moments of silence, he took a stack of papers. He first read it quick, then he realized that he'll need a pen. David took a pen, sat back on the chair and started filling the questionnaire he was given. After a few silent minutes, he stopped writing and read it carefully to check it. He stood up, walked to the Commissar's desk and gave a stack of papers back to the Commissar.
"Here You go, Commissar."
By saying that, David slowly turned around, got back to his chair and sat, waiting for the Commissar's reaction.
No noise could be heard inside the office. "The Commissar seems to be satisfied. Hm, he might even be in good mood.." Ivan speculated tensely. He nervously played with the pamphlet in his hands, that waiting about was truly awkward and Ivan felt his concentration struggling..
Nikolai already sat in the office for quite a while. From time to time he could hear another recruit mumble moe or less loudly. This one seemed to be less scared than the rest, which made him kind of interesting. Nikolai looked at the guy, whioch was Ivan.
"Be sure, the commissar is never really satisfied...just more or less annoyed...."
Squished bigly ~Champ- Thanks, you're a champ. "What's the word for when it feels inside your heart that everything in the world is all right?"
Ivan didn't notice the man until until he adressed him. "Oh." He shrugged easily. "Then let's hope he is in less bad mood." After a brief examination of his vis-Ã -vis Ivan raised an eyebrow and asked: "And what made you apply for the Coalition?"
