Did you try restoring back to the configuration prior to the problem and then comparing? I never used nor had to use it myself, but I found it easier to have my mom to do so instead of detailing problems to her. Perhaps you can compare both states and identify the problem.

I have changed back everything that was moved when these problems started happening. Nothing changed... And it's getting worse, as my computer just froze up when trying to use Firefox. I just don't get it.

Okay, first of all.. i didnt read all thats posted so im sorry if i say something that already been said.

Small checklist to keep;):

Full system restore
Full Virus and Spy/Adware scan
Registry Cleanup (contaminated registry can cause big problems)
Login with Administrator and delete and Recreate all user accounts (dont use account manager, better to use the "manage system" screen, add all users to the Administrators Group
Reinstall of Firewall software, make sure you delete all previous settings to be sure all ports are re-opened.

Thats about the most basic i can get... However my only advise would be: Do a fresh install, if you dont like to take the time for it, maybe its an option to install windows and all programs you often use. Then Create a Full System Ghost

- System restore points were deleted due to virus traces in the System Restore Volumes that for some reason Avast can't delete.
- Did a full Virus and Spyware scans.
- Did a registry clean with 2 different programs.
- My accounts are fine, as even if I make a new one this problem happens.
- Reinstall my Firewall? ... Not a bad idea actually, gonna give that one a try.

Well the trick is not to use the "User accounts" thingy in your control panel. Use your right mouse button on "My Computer" and choose "Manage". You will get a tree-structure display, where you can activate the admin account. Login under that one, delete all others and recreate them. Make sure you add them to the Local user group "Administrators". If you allready did this, then ignore it, but it could have to do with some profile settings that windows makes. If a virus was able to infect your System Restore points, it also can be able to rub off some of the windows default settings in any GUI/Wizard based Windows application.

Still i would vote for the full reinstall of your system, including a wipe of partitions and the MBR

Well, I think I finally fixed the problem... What was it? My Firewall (nice call Mr_3ppozz).

What I did? Well...

First, I Uninstalled my Firewall and ran Freelancer. Didn't crash. Ok good, that's somewhere. Next I tried reinstalling my Firewall but disabled it, crashed. Tried again but this time shutting it down entirely, still crashed. I uninstalled it again, ran Freelancer, no problems.

So, I think it's safe to say... PC Tools Firewall Plus 3.0.0.52 IS BUGGED. I now have a new Firewall and everything seems to be running fine... For now.

I haven't read all of the posts so i don't know your outcome....just posting this as it may help others. I have had a similar problem in the past with XP. Usually known as the "blue screen of death".
From my limited experience it seems as though it usually occurs after you have installed something new, like a new firewall, virus protection etc etc. Usually system stuff rather than a game.

My remedy was to lose the recently installed virus protection. Had another weaker one running still....
Otherwise it may be an update from windows that has knocked something around, and that can be difficult to find sometimes. SP2 took out my intel monitoring devices with no apparent fix.

Anyway check to see what new programs you may have downloaded and lose 'em....seems to be the quickest remedy....if you need them, try to find a replacement for them that is more compatible with your system.

MajorGeeks.com can sometimes point to healthy alternatives. Google it? Hope it helps

If you mean you're getting a blue screen while jumping through jumpgates or jumpholes, try turning off 3D sound in the Audio options. That fixes it.

Finally, Well Dboy, i hope you wont have any probs anymore...

Its the least i can do, you fixed my Problems ingame with the BSOD, now it was my turn:)

In general, there are 2 types of firewalls, the Firewall Product itself (all work well) and the Package Firewall's, these have for example: Anti-Spyware, Anti-Vir or any other "Security" program inbedded in there software. THOSE DONT WORK EVER!!! not with FL not with windows with NOTHING!!!

If you need a good firewall, and dont mind editing and reading up on your login history BlackIce Defender is one of the best firewalls ever made. It requires daily manual checkups but its more then worth it.
