I want to uninstall window XP home edition SP2, because my comp need to be reformated
But when I'm putting the disk in the computer and then restart, no options are apearing, not even a ''do you want to initiate the setup Y/N''
But last time I did that(on my other computer, My parent are divorced) I was able to fully uninstall, Reformat, and install XP by restarting the PC and pressing a key
I searched trough the Help & support(POS!!!) and They told me to go in Add or remove programs to uninstall XP but Window isn't apearing in the lists and menus
I also tried do Delete window (lol) but the computer can'T let me do this
I tried to format My main drive(right click on it) but it is always saying that I must close Everything on that drive, But if I do this I wont be able to see the options anymore,,,,that is stupid
So now I really don't know what to do...
If someone manage to fix my prob I will give to him a Box of KY jelly...:P
If you want to do a full reformat of your Hard Drive, then there's no need to uninstall Windows, it's going to get deleted anyway.
Put your Windows XP CD, reboot your Computer. A screen should come up asking "Do you wish to boot from disc, press any key". After that, it will load the Windows blue installation screen. Read the instructions there to deformat a hard drive, then reformat it, and reinstall Windows. Done.
If the "Do you wish to boot from disc, press any key" doesn't come up. Look for a hotkey you can press just as your computer starts. I think it's F7 or something that allows you to set where you want your PC to look for a boot file. If you find it, change it that it checks your CD drive first, and then your hard drive.
Oh, and I hope you've made backups of everything if you're going to reinstall.

If it's not F7 then try the "DELETE" Key. Works on all the computers I have had so far.
And just to add to DBoys post RAM that key (Be it F7 or DEL) like theres no tomorrow as soon as the computer comes on. And Don't stop RAMMING it until the Bois Screen appears. Find the correct option and display it like:
First Boot: CD ROM
Second Boot: IDE / Hard drive Etc.
Good luck

Ok Dboy was right, The priorities weren't in the right order....
But now I have a new problem...
I was told that the Window XP cd would recognize my computer and install itself without asking a key code
Guess what....The stupid program asked a key code so right now I'm at my other house on my second computer(so I don't have access to the other one that i'm trying to install XP on it)
I'm waiting for the Guy that sold the computer to me to contact me and to tell me what to do...
