Apparently, Moriarty's hands are in that. Maybe he hates dealing with tech-requests -that- much. And who I am to criticize him?
I only hope that those only produce the 100% energy efficiency if flown with the proper Hacker software. I should ask a Technician. And I'm quite fine with the place of selling. At least the corporate flunkies and their lapdogs need to work a bit if they want a Bayonette.
Ye well, I understand your approach, but then changing the description of these ships made no sense to begin with, seeing how all technology is available to everyone already. Obviously, someone had a purpose with doing this, and I don't think tech requests are involved, seeing how the tech chart is dead.
So yeah, I say either broaden the range of selling points so making them public makes sense, or restore the Lane Hacker title, and the power balance things it involves. This current uncertain state is the worst that can happen.
Btw, I heard the Bayonet also got a considerable agility nerf, I cannot confirm that though, since I don't have the old stats at hand. If that's true, I don't think you need to worry about it going into the wrong hands for purposes other than looking pretty.

Gheis accidentally said that, and keeps getting the bashing for that. It's untrue, as it was stated before in various threads around. (I'm lazy to look for them, but most of those had CR in the title)
If tech restrictions will be lifted, there will be a big admin-green notification of it. Until than, the tech-chart and faction-granting stays.
Except for the Hackers, who seems to be in need of some legal income.:)
Those three ships rule-wise became the same as a Sabre. The only remaining restriction about them is that the buyer needs to be able to land on Hacker bases to purchase them.
