Ever thought about the repsheet and descriptions reguarding that? Brigands and corse control the black market, they work together more often than not when buisiness is in their interest to do so. Corse occasionally pick off the more troublesome brigands, but an open war footing for them would be suicidal at best due to the population diffrence.

I agree with Card Captor on the French-speaking part.

Nobody is going to complain about a Gallic faction whose members never say any word in French, but when you do use it, at least try and make an effort, just out of politeness.
I know it's an outrageously complicated language, but simple sentences aren't so hard, and if you need help you can ask me or any other fluent speaker out here (CC, alley, virus, Soban, Prowler, etc).

Thanks.

While the signature did not break any rules before, the lack of third party hosting caused your signature to take up over half of the page. Until the problem is fixed, I'll have to revert those images to links. ~Inferno

When we write rumors we base them on the lore. After that they go a proofreading by a supervisor (Xoria for this instance). And just in an occasion I wrote Corse rumors for several systems among the rest of the rumors I wrote.

Okay... other languages than English here on the forums have always been an issue in my opinion. I find it hard to demand from Gallic/Rheinland/maybe even Kusari players to be acquainted with the respective language, so I wouldn't even try to start a debate about different languages now. Just for instance, the amount of wannabe-German and real German expressions, even the most simple phrases, is pretty high on the forums, and people just do it wrong, they make loads of the same spelling mistakes over and over again, just take a look at a message dump of an official faction operating in Rheinland. So I, as German native speaker, could rage at people who RP a Rheinland character due to their misspelled and unsuitable expressions every minute.

However, I understand and concur that the very basics are ought to be written correctly, it is only a matter of respect and politeness as you've stated above. Your point is noted and we will strive to improve.

You cannot expect from people who never french or any other foreign language to get it right.
To rage about your native language not being used properly on disco is the most useless thing ever.
If you have nothing better to do than that..

It is not the first time I point the issue out, and they sign every of their post with it, therefore I believe it is worthy of being feedbacked upon, as it is an aspect of the faction.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

No you don't get it.
It's not hard to remember a few caracteristic words. Things like Yes, No, Hello, Goodbye.

Gallic : Oui, Non, Bonjour, Au Revoir
Kusarian : Hai, Iie, Konnichiwa, dunno so insert goodbye here
Rheinland : Ja, Nein, Guten Tag, dunno so insert goodbye here

If you introduce a bit of english, no one is going to say anything. It's normal, no one's going to learn a full new language just for this, it'd be insane and uncalled for.

But, if iou beutcheur english liek thise whail you ar traiing to maike yourselfe undeurstoude then thair is a probleme.

This is what they're talking about.

Bonjour!

Being the newest member, I've taken some time and great care to develop my character in game, to insure that the proper IFF / ID / Ship / Weapons / ZOI / Lore and locations are where they need to be. I even based my character's name on a French heroine "Jeanne.Hachette". I've been given advice and assistance by quite a few of you out there and I really appreciate this. Further, I appreciate you guys helping out in this thread. French is not my native language, but I do try. Thanks in advance for not flaming me while I get settled in.

It seems, from what I've read, that the nature of this particular thread has been well... a bit bent by other forces. When I say this, I mean that there may be more going on than the words I'm reading, some of which seem more like pot shots than honest critique or advice or whatever. I don't know the entire history, still learning over here, but honestly... it feels a little off. Of course, this thread is for feedback, however, I think that one should consider their own motivations when posting to any thread. People get along, or they do not. It might be helpful to consider addressing the post rather than the poster. It might go a long way toward understanding for all parties concerned.

And thank you to all who have extended me patience and courtesy while I find my place in Gallia.

Love n' Lustre,

Kyte
