Sir, I took the Iceman out for a run today to give the crew a run down. We proceeded to the Sigma 13 Jump Hole to see if any Wild were in the area. I had been there a few minutes when the pirate Creteria ( I believe that was the correct spelling ) appeared on short range scanners, I thought he may have made a run for it on sighting us but credit to him he did not.

The ship as a few kinks to work out, some of the systems seem to be malfunctioning. The pirate was attacking a poor trader, who I must say was putting up a spirited defence. The said pirate begged me to leave him alone, the men needed the shake down. He was flying a Ravens Talon and the gunners were finding him hard to hit.

That will be another thing to get looked at when she goes in for repairs, I gave encouragment to the gunners and trusted in them to allow for misalignment. Although he was jinking all over the place the lads finally got the measure of him and a great cheer went thro the ship when he exploded in flames.

A search of the wreckage did not reveal his presence, I am almost glad he got away he proved a worthy opponent and one no doubt we will be seeing again. The next time he might be more wary of the Black Talons.

I shall be taking the ship to Alster for final repairs and have given the crew one weeks leave in celebration of their first kill.

On another note I was wondering if any policy decisions have come down from on high. The troops seem to be at a loss for something to do at the moment, we need some direction.

I am glad Mr Cummings is recovering, Mr Wagner did'nt do to bad a job.

Finally the good ship Apache is fully fitted out and ready to launch. Should bring a new bow to our arsenal.

Never said that before, Why not do it now. I am pleased to report I am all set up, Fighter is refitted, weapons in place, and I now run with the RepEx ID.

I am Glad to hear that Iceman was able to take out that pirate. Earlier today teamed with Rhienland military we attemped to take him down and he fled into Sigma-13. We were unable to track him and so returned to New Berlin space.

I would like to note that the Rhienland military seems woefully underfunded and if a real threat were to come to our region of space. I believe it would Fall to US to protect this system. Have we thought of perhaps commercializing the military.

Just a thought. I know it is only my second day but with my prior military background I feel as if a couple of starfliers could give these guys a run for their money.

Enough of my idle thoughts.

I have one question though. If Asked by a Freighter for an escort, what is a fair price to be charged per system time and distance.

My good friend, after flying with you over these last few nights, I would recommend you charge 100k per systems visited. However if the long range scans indicate hostiles on your route I would advise the Trader to change route or up your price to cover insurance payments should you fall to hostile guns.

That said, you are a fine pilot and maybe the hostiles might need to up their insurance rates, if pirates can get insurance. I find most pirates these days seem to use gunboats and above so be careful when engaging. Remember he who runs against a bigger ship lives to fight another day.

I second those sentiments from my wing commander. I am all for blood thirsty pirate killing mayhem and glory. Sticking your nuts into a meat grinder is hardly glorious Geist. Get a grip on your desire to maim and slaughter and call in backup. Remember a problem shared is fun shared with your colleagues and a stick in the eye of your enemy.

Intelligence on several pirate operations has now become a priority requirement for Black Talon. There are a number of pirate organisations that require a closer scrutiny and analysis of their tactical and military capability. To meet this requirement it has become feasible to perform a sirius wide sector sweep today. Expect heavy resistance in heavily fortified pirate areas. This is to be primarily a reconnaisance mission however should the oportunity arise to take down any known targets then our forces will be deployed accordingly. All available operatives to contact me via private channels for an in depth briefing on this Recon operation.

Black Talons will soon be felt ripping wounds in the bowels of those who oppose the fatherland.

I shall be available for the sector wide sweep tonight, always thought Recon in force is a good idea.

Repairs to the Iceman are going slowly and the crew would not thank me from calling them back early. I shall be in my fighter or I could give the Apache a run out.

I shall offer my flight a 100k bonus for every confirmed kill should we run into any unfortunate pirates.

Interesting observation Geist. Id take alittle more time to observe the rheinland Military and the might they can bring to bear upon their foes. I know from personal experience that their ranks contain a number of ace pilots who prefer not to show their hand too much. In a tight pinch they can be a force to contend with and have on several occasions pushed back threats from invading pirate forces. Im certain of course they would be delighted to give you some one on one experience of their combat ability in a training aspect should you ask nicely. It may help you to gain a little more understanding of their capability and of course your own.

I would just like to say for the Record, I am not some blood Crazed glory hungry Power monger. That Said I DID get jumped by seven wild pilots...they were eventually turned into to Local authorites Less their fighters. I cannot help that I am good at what I do. And if For some reason my Confidence makes a few people uncomfortable, Understand I am not above asking for aid. When I returned from that fight with the wild, New Berlin, Oder Shipyard and the Ring were being Assaulted by LBW Unioners and Bundh. While I engaged my first Target, I was immediately on the comms letting all know what was happening and asking for Assistance. The Local Police were there in a few minutes, but then again Rheinland military was no where to be found.





in a Side note, I still think I racked up more kills than Said Police officer in his Gunboat.



And I will be Taking what you said to heart,. about testing the Rhein military, we may be able to trade tactics making both of our forces stronger
