I'm sorry, I cannot help but smirk since a few weeks ago people were complaining they had too much money. xD
But ye, as people already said it, there are great ways to make use of bases, some are profitable, some are not. It's not supposed to be a walk on the park.
2 shops on the base with 2 docking options? One for sale one for buying? Doable?

possible solution is custom GUI, and not using FL one, but in general it's easier to make whole new game engine instead of continuing hacking old one code.

fyi - bases are not meant to generate profit just like that. they should use resources for maintenance and actually reduce the caps available in sirius - to motivate people to generate profit elswhere - ie trading.
now you trade for something that is your own and you can develop and support it. gives a certain emotional attachment to it, making you trade for what is needed for it.

I was just thinking about this and asked. This is for what this part of forum is, or not? General discussions... It was not intented as complaining. As I sad in first sentence of first post, bases are awesome. So stop talking about raising kids and crap like this.
I told my thought, Cannon said it was too difficulty but there is some kind of another sollution. Enough for me. Full stop. Now put out your flames. Really.
some people think that player base are something cheating. but it not. I dont see why there should be so wierd economic with player bases. really. basic bases are more then enough
