The point would be to prevent them from attacking again with the same ships in the next four hours, without losing any of our own ships in the process.

Nope, they just wait 4-7 minutes, log char with other name. If you dont know exacly, that this two chars belongs to same player, you wont have any basis for report. :)

That kind of gank could be acceptable- you are skilled fighter pilot and you countering 3 not so skilled pilots. You have killed 2 of 3, and last player droped this lucky mine, which killed you and almost killed your last enemy. You had all chances to win, or kill majority of enemy forces. Its fine. Its not like, 2 bombers fighting 3 cruisers.

Then you should make sure you make your fights really take place in an environment where there is little risk for "outsiders" to stumble on your fight and join because their RP status demands it.
... And if those arent interesting for you, you can always do your arranged ballanced PvP in places where you wont interfere with other people's RP.

Official faction fights, set up in advance, and staged somewhere rather private. That way you can perfectly balance things as you see fit. When stuff happens out in the 'wild', as it were - in the open server - then deal with it.

I miss the days of the regularly scheduled BHG| / Order events in Lost.

There should be more events. Even on other servers, to keep them more controlled and to prevent saturating/crashing the GC one.

I get ganked all the time, nobody seems to care.

Essentially for everyone in disco it boils down to:

If player is ganker: GANK ALL THE ENEMY

If being ganked: Q_______Q

Couldn't care less. I tried to avoid ganks, but not because of some moral high ground. I did it because I enjoyed duel or small fights more than group fights. Been ganked a lot and, frankly, it was fine. Might have been frustrated sometime, but it always was temporary at most. What annoyed me was never the ganks, rather all the bitching that often followed. And especially those who think it's fine to get gank but scream from the top of their lungs when they get ganked.

Ah ye, Zoners are overrated.
