The simple fact that they're built by the same people all across Sirius.
If each house were to get the ability to build their own, then this sort of thing would be awesome, but as lore stands currently, it's a little strange.
After all, the houses don't actually touch the gates or lanes (short of ramming them for whatever reason), all maintenance is done by DSE and Ageira. Having different makes of the same technology just makes repair more difficult.

I agree that the lore doesn't really support the idea of multiple house trade lane designs, since Ageira is the only manufacturer. Aeternus told me that it was something he was thinking about for 4.87, though, so I decided to take a stab at it.
EDIT: It doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility that the different houses would commission different designs for their trade lanes, even if Ageira is the only manufacturer of trade lanes. The normal trade lane ingame could be the basic civilian model, and then the houses could have their own personalized designs.
The lore can be altered easily. They revised the lane design and decided that each House area would need a new design, because, for example, Rheinland's sulfurous asteroids mess with the electronics.
Actually - I wager it's the houses that likely build the bulk of the lane node frameworks to Ageira (/Solar) specs. DSE (/EFL) then installs the high-tech stuff. The lane node frameworks are nothing more then big metal shells. I do not see why the houses would not customize them to their own atmosphere.
I've requested ones for all 4 houses: Liberty, Bretonia, Kusari, Rheinland. This Liberty design reminds me of their snubs - it's suitable, but needs to be textured to make it truly scream "Liberty".
Lanes beyond the core house systems would remain the current bland version. The intend behind this by the way, is to give the house systems a more "house-ish" feel.

I realise the pointlessness of arguing to a Discovery dev about retaining believable lore, but couldn't this be done more effectively without even touching lore by making the stations more unique in each house?
