Jazz, sorry mate, doesn't work like that I'm afraid. That is just the preserve of The Keepers. Nothing is ever
done to any character without the faction's consent.
Some more work on your side I expect then ...

I like the way, concept of Keepers is going, but i try to take an objective point of view.
Nomads are not just Keepers. They are different to Phantoms or Coalition, because they are an original FL faction. No one can play a nomad, while beeing hostile to nomads furthermore. Absolutely no safe place and no possibilities to restock equipment. So if someone request for permission to play a nomad, but don't like to be with the Keepers. What the answer will be? No, i guess, but might be wrong. If no, this person might point to Keepers and will ask, why can they. What the answer then will be?
With all the time and efforts put into the Keeper plot, please don't take a kind of elite position. This will be not good and some players may consider it as unfair.
All the same goes for the Wilde.
Respectful
AoM
PS: Admins are hostile to all afaik. Would include Nomads too.
Keepers are a nomad control structure.
I would like to play a nomad in a certain manner, which does not fit the overall theme.
The thought is, since nomads are essentially an excuse to kill anything, they need controls...so do xenos, in my opinion, but the point is, Keepers are acountable for their members, and the plug can be pulled on them. Makes their particular brand of nomad RP the only kind, I know, which is a shame, because they are not, in fact nomads....they guard the nomads...a compelling comparison can be made to the AW/Zoner relationship.
It is something to be said, that the Keeper RP, has a strong history here.
Any nomad player on this server hangs on Treewyrm's coattails, for the extensive time, and effort, he has put into creating a viable faction.
The keepers were never a Yanf.
Treewrym has thought about this faction for as long as he's been here, and serious discussion on the keepers started in July.
On a side note, to my knowledge (and this may be erroneous in the extreme) The Keepers have not accepted a 'Keeper hopeful' player flying the gimped-nomad yet.
Edit...open SP you can set your char's diplomacy...so yes....
AoM, I'll just put it simple: I played Nomads for more than four months straight while being hostile to their NPCs. While originally the story started off with HF it eventually went its own path. The only two bases I was able to dock at were Planet Gammu and Planet Primus. So, don't tell me it's impossible. Anyone can given time to think and turn on imagination.
Unfair? Unfair would be to have random people ruining this intricate work. It's not longer just my vision and my time and effort put into, it is also input and effort of other members of the faction. It would be also unfair to them to see random nomad tagged/IDed players violating rules left right and center, going massive pvp whorage without any control whatsoever, ruining entire concept and collapsing it down. Sorry, I will not allow that to happen. It is the reason why I keep it so tight. It's my responsibility and there is no elitism here, to put it simple: it's a job. Not an easy one mind you. If anybody thinks otherwise - fine. Seriously, I'm not bothered about what people might think in such key, it's their interpretation, but it's not my job here to change minds.
A little correction to Unseelie's post: I did accept a member based on his roleplay in-game a while ago (actually I think it's five or six players by now overall who initially had in-game nomad fighter characters), though the person still had to make the story and was interviewed thoroughly about almost everything, starting from the generic questions about the Discovery, then to the Nomads, the way person sees them and understands the concept, and eventually up to the personal matters. Regardless of that, the patience is required. If the person has no patience then playing Nomads is out of question, it requires certain qualities, including that one.
And yes, we have both hybrid characters and pure nomads in the faction, sometimes the different isn't seen but sometimes it shows up. We take care of the smaller ones (NPCs) acting as guardians and protecting them.
I think Unseelie means that the Coalition was left behind and seems like never made it to Sirius, as the starting video tells us, especially its original version.
Its not the time since you have started to play anymore, treewyrm. You got an exception. Will you or will admins grant everyone the same chance today, when playing a nomad? Or will they point to an application for Keepers?
Nice what you think about other players than you and your faction members. Even i am not so pessimistic.
And what concept does you mean? Your concept? For nomads and Wildes? Will that mean, every PC faction leader will have the right to set his/her own concept for the whole NPC faction and everyone has to live with?
It sounds like.
Now to something bit offtopic. With no word i have shown disrespect to your and your faction members efforts, in contrary. I simply was so stupid to place me in a more neutral position to show you a point of view some players might get. Okay. You don't care about what other players might interpret, but you should, because we are a community. With your words, why should other players been bothered, if your faction will become successful or not? Think about this way. The community has a great addition with Keepers, but could also play without it. On the other hand, Keepers will be nothing without the community.
On one hand I do see AoM's point. Why shouldn't players who demonstrate adhesion to the rules and the spirit of RP be granted the right to play Nomads? Why should it be strictly limited to just one faction with very rigid membership criteria?
On the other hand I understand why it is the way that it is. Being granted the priveledge of being a Nomad is not something to be taken lightly. It is a responsibility in and of itself. There are way too many, whats the word, opportunities to be a complete and utter PvP whore. This is something the Keepers do not do and will not allow. Having said that, I do think the Nomad thing needs to be kept under the strict control of a single faction. It's unfortunate, but I think it would be too dificult to trust independent Nomad characters. That said, I would like to see something done with Das Wilde as far as PC characters. I mean c'mon, the Keepers need some sort of ally, dont they?
Keep in mind, this is just my own personal opinion.

ON MY WAY OUT OF RETIREMENT
Indeed, I find that Das Wilde have even better RP opportunities than their squishy blue cousins. They're sneaky, they're almost human and your best friend could very well be one.
