' Wrote:IMO, the gameplay is still excellent even with the older graphics. I got the HL1 Source port when I bought HL2, so being able to play one then the other was pretty awesome. Since then, I've also played the HL spin-offs thanks to Steam sales.

I will be downloading this ASAP!
Plus the level design in a lot of places is quite different in BMS compared to Half Life 1, which is worth considering.

The alien stuff was a big chunk of the game. Not sure it would be the same without it. The stuff in Black Mesa was mostly just puzzle/run/shoot/repeat

I have all of the HL games from the Orange Box, not really a fan, but hell I like free stuff so okay, thanks for the pointer

According to their FAQ, it's coming eventually.

[color=#FFFFFF]Not crazy, there is a certain allure to old premeval graphics, the low detail textures 50 polygon characters and "wooden" animations leave most of the work to your imaginatin, and as we know the its graphic powers are unlimited

That's why I prefer old games over todays crap.
Let's see if this remake keeps what it promises.

Just played the intro... And absolutely loving the ambience and level re-design.

Edit: I cannot overstate how much I'm loving this game.

Loving it so far. noticed a couple more puzzles here and there but when its half life, that's not a bad thing.
Loading frequency and times could be a bit better in my opinion.
