i don't care how many times that was brought on,
let's do it again!

When I got to the battlefield (and it's a loooong way in a battlestar from NY to Tau-37, going the round way through Kusari space to avoid the asteroids in Alaska and Omicron Minor) just to emerge inside an asteroid field and go to another -

It was FRUSTRATING to find a rather CHAOTIC battle there!

The TC and SF ships refusing to admit defeat, though dropping like flies, made me really p*****. And then the accusations of using bats and bots made me red hot, even worse the not-so-dock-killings, so, atm I have 3 propositions:

1. NO ONE CARRIES BATS OR BOTS (sell them at a base, jettison in space before the battle, I don't care)
2. EVERY BATTLE HAS TO BE AWAY FROM BASES AT LEAST 4K (also prevents anyone from accidentally shooting a base, so no NPCs will swarm you helping your opponent)
3. LIMITED NUMBER OF DEATHS ALLOWED PER PLAYER (it doesn't have to take all night, people have other obligations, this is only a game after all)

anyone having something to add, pls do so.

admins, pls support this

In my honest opinion, I understand you are trying to do something constructive, but what you do not realise is that no-one cares, and no-one will follow any rules in a fight like that, provided they are not breaking the current no PvP rules, people will do as they wish, I myself a constantly being accused of using shieldbats and nanobots, it's something we all vary on, I always thought that if I payed for them I should use them, my money my goods right? Fighting 4k from a station? Surely it's your loss if you shoot a station and get the NPC's there all angry at you, maybe you should work on your aim for that one? And a limited number of deaths? That one isn't going to work, theres used to be a three death rule, it resulted in alot of confusion, I never really understood it, it could just have been some sort of myth I picked up in my own little world, anyway, the fact of the matter was, no-one could hold it up, if someone did it to me, I would have left the battle, flown to a different system, and come back to start a new battle, there are loopholes round it.

Rules for engagement would have to be longer than necessary to cover everything, so heres what I say, if you want rules in a fight, arrange them actually before your fight, not on the server, because every battle is different.

Guys, we *ALREADY* have a rule about using Shield Batteries/Nano Bots on capital ships.

Capital ships *CANNOT* use SB/NB's. That has been the "word" on the server for quite some time (anyone remember those unknown -=?=- incidents???)

Every time we have a war.. someone screams murder about SB/NB's... I'm here to say this one last time.

Cap ships are RESTRICTED from using SB/NB's in a system battle.

This goes to *ANYONE* who wants to try to interpret the rules for themselves. My word and Igiss' word are the law on the server. Don't even think about arguing with me or him over it. If Igiss says i'm wrong.. I'm wrong. no other way around this people.

Next battle I catch, and I see a CAP ship using SB/NB (no matter who's side it is) I will blow that ship up myself. Or kick it.. whichever i'm in the mood for.

Don't try my patience with this war, everyone. I'm already thin on patience with what my life is throwing at me.

You're the boss, mind you, I've never managed to combat tests my battleships, so at least now I know...

No need to scream about it Wolfpack, I was just pointing at people screaming at Dab for using them. I had them all the way, but didn't use any (they're there in case my opponents use them, so I do too, otherwise I'd be surely toasted, I think this is logical at least to some extent). Duff had them also, didn't see him using batts or bots, which is OK. My suggestion was in order to eliminate the possibility of such accusations. I have to admit that my finger wants to go press G then F whenever my hull starts taking the hits, it's a reflex I've developed flying Single Player or battling 50 NPCs at once. It does take some willpower not to do that, but in PvP I just restrain myself. But do all the people?

... and I'm really sorry for the stuff real life's throwing at you, I can only tell you that you're not the only one. I play FL to relax and have some fun... trying to forget my own problems... and it helps sometimes, that's all.

As for what finius said, people not obeying the rules, it's just a game, after all as I said before, there is real life out there, go get a girlfriend/boyfriend or something... I mean not you finius, I don't know you or what you do in your life, but I for one have to make some money in order to live - thus I have to work and I have a girlfriend who'd like I spend some time with her too, not only "fighting somewhere in Sirius" or working on some image in Photoshop or Illustrator. She had fun watching last night but we all do have other needs and obligations, jobs and stuff (this is for the limited number of deaths, I logged off the server at 1.30 AM, we both got up at 7.30 AM and off to work).

As for my aiming - I only did it once, I've seen the others doing it more often (and they were your pilots)

As for the rules being longer, read the WHOLE post, I think I asked people to add stuff.

I'll stop here - too long

Good luck trying this Nightfall, your suggestions have been tried before and no-one could agree to how to enforce the no batts/bots rule.

Personally if you want to fight like that goto connecticut thats why it was put there, not as most people are doing, as an easier way into alaska.

Have you ever tried aiming straight when your hands are shaking? Because not only is it your first combat experience, but it's also one where Dab is shouting about how great he is, you're angry and nervous makes aiming at anything hard enough, let alone hitting it, my only TC pilot that was there was Macduff man, and he has never actually been in a proper battle, where he has been under pressure...

And as for life habits, we need not bring them up here...

i've lost my virginity then and there too, just 4 you to know, and it didn't look to me his hands were shaking, also, it was MY FIRST battle at all, as a matter of fact my SECOND PvP I had one with Darkwulf the day I joined AW, so don't go now about that, don't even make another step in that direction about not having experienced pilots! I play online for a month, last two weeks or so here. And, yeah, Dab's shouting is very well known psychologic tactic of "putting fear into your enemy's bones", and if it scared Duff... it was meant do do so, which 4 someone attacking somebody wouldn't work, but that's war! :D

btw, this has nothing 2 do with rules of engagement [Image: offtopic.gif]

so we had enough of this, I don't wanna hear it, you started, you admit your loss and shut up!!!
or post something constructive - as you say!

and life habbits, yeah, I agree, no need for that, I was just making a piont and got carried away :)

 it never occured 2 me to go to alaska through there
guess I like 2 do some things the hard way...

as for the no batts/bots rule... it's simple, needs some honor (for those not knowing what that is... look into a dictionary (not sure though, is it spelled "honor" or "honour", but sure u catch my drift)), self discipline (for those not knowing what that is... look into a dictionary 4 this too :P ), then it won't be a need for enforcing it.
I've played 2 weeks on solaris, before it got shut down, and some ppl there weren't even carying batts/bots at all.

Special thanks to Virus for the smiley i think might be used A LOT on this forum

Ok, well you want ME to shut up, maybe you should make me? Fact is you've never seen me in my fighter, so when you rip me up in a fighter good and proper, you can tell me to shut up. As for posting constructive critisism, no need, this attempt wil go the way of the others...downwards...sorry to say it...
