There are two ways to update. First - the most simple, but may be harmful if you are playing on different servers with different mods and switch those mods via FLMM. Rename Discovery.zip.flmod into Discovery.zip and unzip all files directly into your Freelancer game directory. Confirm file replacement. After rewriting files is complete, you may launch the game.

Other way is to deactivate the previous version of Discovery and activate a new one using FLMM. FLMM is essential if you are reinstalling Freelancer with Discovery mod.

New in Discovery 4.76 beta:

- New pilotable ship:
Blood Dragon
- New commodities: VIP's and prisoners. Both are special commodities with high buy prices and even higher selling prices - for players who enjoy challenging trade routes and high profits.
- NPC ships now eject pilots when destroyed. Captured pilots can be sold at bases.
- NPCs will scan your ship for pilots, so watch out.
- Only battleships, cruisers, gunboats, miner and liners are able to equip Battleship and Cruiser shields. Transports can equip their own shield types and Gunboat shield.
- Defense stats for all transport and capital ship shields increased
- Power output of capital ships increased up to 400.000 - 2.000.000
- Capital ships weapons - including missile launchers - now consume energy
- Capital ships' flak cannons and forward guns are less poweful
- Battleships have 90 impulse speed instead of 80
- Power of all codename weapons increased
- Nomad weapons now use energy (very small amount)
- NPC shields level 4 and above regenerate
- All missions rewards are higher
- Correct and complete infocards for all new ships, equipment and commodities
- Yanagi Depot trade route made less lucrative
- Gammu and Primus are now Zoner bases
- Fixed docking to large stations and many other bugs

Note that beta version number will remain 4.75 until 4.76 main release.

Now you can be most helpful - play and report any bugs or glitches that you found.

Just a note about the shields.

Before running the update (as Igiss mentioned) remove and sell shields that are classed too high for your current ship on all your accounts. Do not try to launch from whatever station you are on until you run the update. You will probably crash and might spawn in the planets atmosphere when you come back.

Lost an 80k shield and a load of cargo that way outside Junyo, Shikoku.

The new commodities rock Igiss!

It seems the pilots are not labeled as anything when they are floating in space waiting to be tractored in. Doesnt bother me, but might be fixable. They show up as (IDS?) when you scan the NPC's and have no info cards.

No info-cards on VIP's or Prisoners.

Still having occasional trouble docking with trade-lanes in Large Train.

VIP's cant be sold at Gammu or Primus, as they have no commodity brokers. Not necessarily a bug, could just remove the Gammu and Primus prices (luscious as they are) from the trade possibilities for this commodity. Or add a broker at those planets.

Still getting stuck in bases when launching from them. Ruiz so far.

About as usefull as braile on a drive up ATM.

I've created those infocards. Strange.

Prices will be removed.

I'm afraid this cannot be fixed. Launching from planets is a bit more important for battleships than launching from Ruiz. If I fix Ruiz, people won't be able to launch from planets... unfortunately.
What ship were you plying when you got stuck?

Thanks for all the new stuff Igiss there is just a few problems I have noticed first is that I dont have a sheild on my large train and it is the sheild that the ship had when i bought it. Second my battleships dont have sheilds any more either they are both Osirises

Can you list all your charnames? Apart from Osirises chars.

I have just checked and I dont even have a hardpoint for sheilds apart from my fighter

That's impossible. I didn't change hardpoints at all.
Leading to a thought that you might have updated the mod files incorrectly. Can you unzip files into game folder?

Found bugs summary

Most bugs are result of incorrect mod updating. Check your file versions. No infocards - check discovery.dll date in Freelancer/EXE folder. Lancer just checked. It was created on August 1, meaning that it was a 4.75 file.

How to get an ideal update? 1) Overwrite game folder files, all of them or 2) Reinstall Freelancer, FLMM and Discovery.

No cargo beam on trains - it's not a bug, it's normal. No ships with 2000+ cargo can have beams. That's an ingame limitation.

Get stuck in Ruiz - that cannot be corrected (unfortunately)

Cannot dock to stations - please report to what stations exactly, I will make Freeport docking easier, but no information about other stations. I cannot check them all myself.

Incorrect infocards - see top of this post, infocards are correct if you have a proper file version.

All shields work. This is confirmed. Don't complain, check file versions again if something is wrong.

I'll try the fresh install of Freelancer. Thanks Igiss. It is true that my install is old and much modded.

Shield problems similar to Lancers can probably be resolved by unmounting the shields of all modded craft before installing the update in the mod manager. All the loose ones I had converted just fine.

Fine work on this mod Igiss.

About as usefull as braile on a drive up ATM.
