Quote:It looks to me that you only want to run smoothly trough Taus, so you don't get caught...I even remember Eppyon complaining how Train CD is too fast, so he can't survive the Pirates.
Well, of course I want a smooth run though the Taus! Just like you like to run convoys through Omicron Alpha, which is, pardon my Street French, Bullscat. When you get right down to it, traders exist to make money. Now, I like a good bit of Roleplay as much as the next guy, but getting blow out of cruise every single damn time I pass a certain part of space and getting assaulted by a bunch of people who legally have no right to fire at me, and, furthermore, can't even capitalize, is EXTREMELY detrimental to the moneymaking process, and my tolerance. I suggest you look at another certain practice of the =BSG=/=CR=, namely running convoys through Omicron Alpha, the dead center of Outcast space, where as NPCs you'd be mauled by the Planetary Defense Grid the minute you left the Jumphole. I think that's a bit hypocritical, don't you? Demanding the right to directly violate your ID and assault smugglers, then hauling even LARGER craft than you get on our route through the HEART of enemy space.
Quote:@Epyon: all are lowlife street dealers armed with UZIs? Doubt it. On the other hand, I can tell you I've seen quite a few serious security guards armed to the teeth with Class III body armors and kevlar helmets, and Mp-5 sub-machine guns.
Well, good for them, but they still don't have legal jurisdiction or the legal authority to even use those weapons in a non-defensive manner...

=BSG= don't haul anything trough Alpha, sorry. You are either lying, or living in the past.

It's easy to get mixed up with the 12 colonies of Kobol or whatever they may be and, next time, just don't bother getting involved when it has absolutely nothing to do with you. The BSG have been on my ignore list for a while, not just for that incident, partly because of the Viper, and Viper MkII, they ( from my PoV anyway) were only added to facilitate your RP as Colonials, just because a few IMG are from a universe where you can see these things, doesn't mean they'd haul along those ships... and I don't particularly like the way they look, un-FL-ish IMO, and I get so many newbs asking "Where's the fighter from BSG? " showing that it's so heavily connected with the show, that it just skews Discovery up a bit... But that's just me, and that won't change, unless they re-skin it... x.x
The Rogues, the Lane Hackers, they don't know the effects of the drug, they merely notice that they're needing more every day practically, they don't quite know it runs down to the genetic level. Cardamine's secrets are known only to the Outcasts, Cryer KINDA know what's going on, but it isn't common knowledge.
The security force of the Miners wouldn't be all that good, the only reason that the House corporations don't push into those areas is because they are just too dangerous, lots of extra security costs money ... The Independent miners gain an advantage BECAUSE they're smaller, because they don't really care that much for security, if they made it into headlines though, for example, a major drug bust... The Outcasts would certainly move them a little bit up the black list. That means, more Outcasts, that means, you need more security, that means, you have to pay money to make your security better, or you'll never get any goods sold, and won't make profit.
If you want to try stopping drug-runners, either:
A) Apeal for a BSG / IMG security force ID,
B) Give up, the drugs aren't your problem anyway,
C) Carry on with the IMG ID and get slapped for being out of the constraints of your ID,
By the way... StarButt, you're still on the ignore list, especially if I hear too much about the Colonies of Kobol. I don't mind if you use BSG as a background story, all right, just don't RP it as if you've just got out of the escape pod or whatever, say you've been here for a while and have basically integrated into FL, not a Vanilla plot-line, just not imported straight off BSG, mix it up a bit if you want, but in the end, this isn't the BSG mod.
You're free to demand and scan for your pilots, but, if they're hauling drugs, just turn a blind eye?
' Wrote:Thank you, we intend to do just that: We'll do everything in our power to make the smuggler "leave in a hurry, and possible never return". I knew it you'd see it our way in the end Dab...cheers;)
I know you want to imagine that what I said goes your way, but rather, your shooting yourself in the foot. Do you have the right to jump someone you SUSPECT of dealing drugs when all he does is walk past the place you guard? Because for one; You do not have the right to scan him, much like security guards don't have the right to search random people who are walking on the street.
Do you have the right to attack that person as he walks past, especially based on the SUSPICION that he deals drugs? No, and neither are security guards.
Furthermore, you don't have the right to attack ANYONE except in self-defense. If I do ever catch you attacking me, I WILL report it until you either change your ways to less pvp whoring (yet another attack on Malta today? The word Daily getting any clearer now?) or change an ID that does fit you and does allow it.
Oh, and just for the record, he isn't dealing drugs at your doorstep. He is walking past you on the street, minding his own business, just as you should.
IMG don't care, sure. But their security cares, because we fight Outcasts constantly, and smuggling Cardamine gives them advantage in those fights.
By cutting their supply, BSG can get the upper hand and defend Taus more effectively.
We are living on IMG bases, we are living in their space, but we are simply a group that figts off Outcasts when needed.
And CR are not security force of IMG.
They are more like their own House, they make their own rules in Taus.
And we, by cooperating with them, have learned that smugglers should be stopped.
Cardamine smugglers.
And i believe it wouldn't be too hard to get their approval.
It is fairly simple.
You are entering OUR space with DRUGS that pays your ships and repairs.
We never ever tried to stop a Smuggler out of Tau-37 or Tau-23.
I believe it is much more OORP for Smuggler to say "You have no right to scan me!" then to drop his cargo and report me after it.
And yet, no one has done so.
All i'v seen is "We smugglers have our rights, you can't ask my drugs!".
It's silly. That's not the way to talk IC.
Anyway, as someone suggested, we can place a bounty, and then fulfill a bounty.
Loopholes, yes, but it's the same you'r doing/speaking.
@Dab - Excuse me, Smugglers are flying in "Pirate Trains" near Java.
You are as disguised as a Tank trying to infiltrate in Hostage situation in Bank for example.
And we mostly scan only red contacts. Red contact meaning Outcast tagged players.
Pirate train + Outcast tag? Yes, disguised as hell.
Thank you very much.

Yes, because you invade Alpha, dare I say, Daily?!
Try not entering Alpha for one week. Just one week. See how many fights you have with them. While your at it, try to not violate your ID for just one week. We'll see if your capable of it.
Hah, actually, we didn't violate it in more then one week.
Since hood warned us, we haven't shot a single trader/smuggler.
Your kind words carry no weight at all.
And btw, are you on a Crusade or anything?
Just getting impression like that, from more then one thread:yes:

I only commented on the Nomad weaponry, cos I've seen quite few fighters being "rubbed" for using them, and fighter-jocks not having the luxury to use the all mighty Krakens, need some "edge", and Nomads can give them that. Next time I'll make sure I check what's the discussion about before I jump in it.
Maybe if you bothered to read my earlier posts here: Like I said, we're RPing as the "security force" of the IMG if you will, so you DON'T have to know or care about anything beyond that. And I believe that IS freelancerish enough for your taste. All you'll hear from us is "fighter pilot" chatter.
Security force of the IMG would be REALLY GOOD since it would be the security force of "one of the mayor ship building factions in Sirius" as infocard stats, so hardly a "small mining operation". IMG makes Battlestars for crying out loud, so I think they can "handle" if OCs decide to move them anywhere on the list.
As for Cardamine, it is 800something A.S. and cardamine as drug and addicts are spread all over major houses. You mean to tell me, that non bothered to experiment with the drug and find out more about it???
Finally:
A) we don't have admins in our faction, thus special ID is not an option
B) drugs ARE our problem for several reasons: 1) we're lawful, 2) we're hostile to OCs and cardamine is their MAIN source of funding
C) get some slack for the sake of more fun and better RP? (guess that's not an option here eh?)

Dab...just a tad of a correction there...
For last two days there were numerous RoS sighted in Tau 23 and 37 and i do not care will you like it or not...hostile forces with in our ZOI will be destroyed...and if not there we know how to bring the fight to them...
Todays attack was my idea...one fast hit and run action..test for new IMG fighting style...since all of oyu say we cant raise big fleet or make big attacks we tested hit and run concept...and it worked out for us just fine...
we picked out one target among various capital ships in Alpha. CR entered in vipers and BSG with bomber or two...we attacked our target, destroyed it and role played our out of the fight...it didn't last longer then 2 minutes.
