Muchas gracias for your long-awaited reply, Señorita Concordia. Your reply helped me decide a few things, but unfortunately others are not as cleanly black-and-white.

First off, si, it truly is difficult to look at my previous lovers' deaths as their show of how they truly would've given the universe for me. Frankly, for every lover I lost I've -literally- lost a part of myself: a few of my limbs and body parts are now prosthetics. You could say my lovers truly were a part of me, both figuratively and literally, heheh.

On the other hand, I don't think they'd like it if I kept wallowing over their loss. Strangely enough, every one of them said the same things on their dying breath: that I be happy and that I fulfill my dreams. And frankly, I think one of them is laughing really hard up there in heaven for seeing me in such a sorry state, hahah. I'll do my best to make their sacrifices mean something, Señorita. They deserve at least that much.

Secondly, after a lot of thinking, I've decided to stay with mi amante, and I plan to tell him soon of my complications. If he'll accept me despite my barrenness, then all the better! If not, well... let's just hope it doesn't get to that. Just so you know, my previous lovers did know about me being barren, but they weren't serious about having a family, so it was fairly easy to just brush the issue aside. But in mi amante's situation, I can feel he's thinking about it, at least slightly, which has me getting worried.

As for adopting a child? Well... that could work, maybe I should ask him if it's alright. An orphan doesn't sound too bad: I never had a mother, being mainly raised by my father, so an orphan would offer the chance for me to be the mother I never had.

On a related note, I'll be grateful if you can contact the good Doc for an appointment. Credits aren't much of an issue with me: I've got tens of millions of credits in my account, which will hopefully be enough. I'm not in any rush, but if he has time to help me sooner, all the better.

Lastly... Honestly, I have every good reason to disappear, to start off on a clean, brand-new slate: my own people have abandoned me, the Houses shun me for my Corsair-origins, I've lost several lovers -and- limbs in my travels, and I'm still a long ways from completing my dream. Any normal, sane person would've taken this opportunity to start over.

But I am neither normal at this point, nor does my dream guarantee I'll come out of this sane. To disappear would be considered cowardice on my part. I would be tarnishing the honor of not just mi familia, but of all Corsario. I don't expect you to understand, Señorita. I was branded a coward and a deserter once, and running away would only prove they were right. I plan to prove them wrong.

Perhaps I've lost hope to an extent... but I've lost hope countless times before. I'm still here, typing, aren't I?
