[21:04:06] Blood.: Remember that time
[21:04:08] Blood.: when we could have fun
[21:04:10] Blood.: on Disco?
[21:04:13] Blood.: 8I
[21:04:14] Aryuananime: No
[21:04:16] Jens (Jansen):
[21:04:17] Blood.: me neither
[21:04:20] Aryuananime: 4.83 is so far back
[21:04:46] Jens (Jansen):
[21:04:47] Aryuananime: Jens
[21:04:47] Aryuananime: As punishment
[21:04:48] Jens (Jansen): (worry)
[21:04:51] Aryuananime: You need to hack disco
[21:04:57] Aryuananime: and put version 4.83 up
[21:05:08] Jens (Jansen): ok
[21:04:51] Aryuananime: You need to hack disco
[21:04:57] Aryuananime: and put version 4.83 up
Or we can ask for the 4.83 install from Cannon and host it on a server.

...Or you could just go on the ModDB page and look at the older versions of Discovery that are still hosted there.
Of course, when you strip the nostalgia away, .83 was still more ship-pack than expansion, relatively low quality and poorly balanced for it. You probably had more fun then because Discovery was new and you hadn't been playing it for five years, not because the mod was better.
So the best way to have fun is to erase your memory, I suppose.

Atmosphere is pretty much the same as it always has been. Selective memory tends to blot out the horror stories surrounding the Harris honeypot and the Diamond/Niobium run.
The reason there were less rule violations during .83 is 1) there weren't any formal rules and 2) there were less people. Rose tinted glasses are a dangerous thing. They stop you seeing where you're going.
