One being "Current target is #t"
And "Current location is #c"

I agree, apart from "singing" messages this was all I used the /setmsg commands for, I'm going to missing doing /g9 Sad

Please can we have Target and Location preset commands? Angel

Repeating the same messages over and over isn't roleplay.

Beg your pardon but sometimes it is. In my case it was an automated advertisement transmission from my OS&C liner which was send ONCE every time I entered a system and shortly before I left it.
As you may know from your consumption of Television or Radio (yes, those oldschool non-PC related things) there's usually a catchphrase in advertisements. Something easy to remember so it'll stuck in your head.
Maybe I'm the only one but I count this into RP, though I know it's very specific and might not apply for the LOLNS and others.

That is one exception to the rule I suppose. But indeed, that wont apply to 95% of the server. And when you are dealing with hundreds of people playing on the server on a monthly basis you have to generalize the rules, not make exceptions.

wow, sooo relatable. like my lpi guy sends out PSAs into ny every now and then to remind criminals to give themselves up to the police, I'd rather this be automated than having to retype the same message Sad

Well, ok. Looking from that point of view I can only agree with you.

I did a similar thing with a Lanehacker gunship Piloted by DJ Sphynx (and broadcasting music brought to you by the lanehackers) for airing commercial breaks and "brought to you bys" while fleeing from LN indies.

First large scale engagement I've had a part in leading took place about an hour ago. And what a nightmare it was calling targets and calling possitions. PLEASE can we have these back for group chats as soon as its practically possible?
