This isn't unique to Bretonia, Planet Kurile; a Samura Heavy Industries base, sells Liberty's Magma Hammer Mk IV and Vengeance Mk V guns, so does The Order at Battleship Isis/Planet Toledo; and Kusari's Disinfector 3 is sold on Kyoto Base, which owned by the Blood Dragons.

Hmmm...Didn't notice that, feenix.

That should be fixed too. Essentially, it meanst that if your rep is high enough with Samura, you can mount high class Liberty weapons. That's quite illogical, unless Igiss purposely put them there to add to the reasons why Liberty should start a war with Kusari.

Well I don't understand the Liberty guns on Kurile but the other things:

Disinfectors on Kyoto: Blood Dragons stole quite many things from the Kusari (bomber design...), not to mention that they have many high-level connections in Kusari goverment... so stealing design plans should not be a problem at all. I believe they are there on purpose.

Liberty Guns on Order bases: Same.. they stole the Osiris right? Can't see a problem with stealing a few guns.

Debilitators on Lane Hacker base: These people actually made the weapons while they were in Ageira.

Disinfectors can be found on Hogosha bases, as well.
Maybe even on Farmer's bases (can't remember).
Nope, I don't have problems with that, it makes sense.
Also, i wouldn't mind order using Liberty guns too.
But there's no point, as they have a better one.:)

opinions about whats good and bad are not the same for everyone. - if that was the standard - is it OK for a gaian to moun nomad blasters? - cause, honestly, their gaian angels are among the worst weapons. same damage like sunfrenzy, same energy, but..... only 5 refire instead of 8.

but do gaians have any business with nomads? - not at all. - ( the only nomad system in their reach is newcastle - and .... there are no nomad NPCs there )

i hate to say it - but if nomad guns drop so frequently, they are by no maens rare. so i wonder where the rumor comes from that they are supposed to be rare. its not like there is a shortage of nomads. its more ooRP for people to mount such a great amount of codenames that really are supposed to be unique pieces.

but nomad guns...if we think of sirius to be a dynamic playground, then nomad guns are widely spread and most common, - yes, even to factions like gaians or other smallish factions. - and if they liked, they could equip all their ships in nomad weapons - all in roleplay, cause they don t even need to kill a single nomad for it - but just ask one of the black-market weapons dealer. - and that would be roleplay.

In my opinion, the argument for "only factions who are involved with nomads can use their guns" is flawed. If that was the case, any Rheinland faction can equip themselves with nomad equipment because of the Wilde. Junkers, GMG and ALG could use nomad equipment because of their Wild troubles. It all gets a bit silly.

I don't think the nomad fighter weapons are that overpowered, so I would allow them for most people (if they have a reason). But the other equipment like Thrusters and turrets should be reserved for the Keepers.

My 2 pennies.

Jinx, those guns(The Gaian gun, and the RM gun) need to be fixed. Nomad guns should not drop so frequently.

I wasn't singling out the RM, I was using them as an example. Frankly, I'm not entirely aware of the amount of damage each gun in FL does.

Once they are fixed, those factions won't have to mount Nomad guns. But the thing is, people are going to continue mounting Nomad guns, regardless of what gun their faction has. My problem is not with factions with incompetent guns, but the factions with great guns.

Nomad guns are supposed to be rare, even rarer than the Code Names.

Why? IT'S ALIEN! I'm not going to go around, picking up stuff that just dropped of a Das Wilde or a Nomad...those things are weird, I don't want to be near them...

I can understand a few people mounting them, and that is why we should only decrease the drop rate, and remove them from being sold on Nomad bases.

Nomad guns are detrimental to RP. Remember that this is NOT a PvP server. This is an RP server, and the equipment that you mount on your characters is extremely important to your character's RP.

Now, on to Codenames. Unlike Nomad guns, codenames do not have a specific history. They are just prototype weapons, and as a result, the player can invent his or her own RP for the weapon. For Nomad guns, this RP is not as flexible.

Let's take one of my planned chars, for instance. He's an experienced IED maker, and has this line:

Prometheus gave the spark that saved humanity...it's only fitting that his spark ends it.

Thus, he will mount two PROMETHEUS on planned his bomber. It's not that much of an RP, I'll admit, but it's something. He has a reason to want to mount them.

On a final note, this is a RP server. RP precedes PvP in all respects. You can't gear up your ship to mount the best loadout, and the reason why people mount Codies and Nomads is typically for this reason.

Your loadout should reflect your RP.

well of course i agree with you, elgatodiable. - but its hard to install standards purely based on a roleplay that does not fit with everyone elses roleplay. - for those hunting in the omicrons, nomad weapons are simply not rare, - no matter how rare they are supposed to be. - on the persephone, i loot them faster than i can sell them ( not literally ) - but last time i sold my stock on FP11 i think it took me around 15 min clicking "choose item" -> "sell weapon" button to get rid of them.

no doubt, they drop too often and off of the wrong NPCs. one cannon out of 100 NPCs - and one blaster out of 200 NPCs might be more appropriate of course.

i am selling all the weapons to the station instead of taking them onto the open market. ( its ooRP to do that sort of ) - it would be inRP if i flooded the market with them. in the end, zoners are businesspeople - and i am sure i could sell a blaster to a player for more than 18.000 credits.

Nomad guns are not rare, they are even human made, as you couldn't really fit a gun straight from a Nomad skin to your plate armor.
They are made to fit Human's needs.
And as long as they have the best dmg:energy ratio, they will be spammed.

Chopper, they are OORP.

And since players can't excercise their own RP effeciently, it is time for the community to step in. Nomad guns are essentially promoting the UBER PWNZ0R loadouts that so many people on the server have.

It's natural for someone to begin to mount those weapons when they see their opponents mount them. As a result, a cyclical pattern of dropping your factions guns for Nomad guns begins. Soon, everyone is using them, but not for the right reasons.

Thus, if players can't RP responsibly, the nomad guns should be removed from the freeports and other stations that sell them. The drop rate of the guns should also be reduced.
