Where gone are the times when pirates simply asked for 2 million credits.

Because back then ships cost a lot less and making money was much harder.

I've only ever been asked to drop my entire cargo once - by a Gaian when I was mining in Dublin. He RP'd it, so I cursed him, dropped the lot and fled. He blew it up. It was a good exchange. The most I've ever had demanded was 25 million. Needless to say, I didn't pay.

The "2millordie's", I pay with virtually no RP. Others, I interact with, and usually pay up. It isn't worth the hassle.

Really? When did you rely on regular trading last time? Profits are way lower than back in .84. Allow me to remind you that you've flown with the outcasts back then and should have noticed the high activity in the Sigmas. It was because even when paying 2 millions to multiple pirates you still could make more money than right now.

Making money as in Piracy, Trading, Mining and NPC pirating and missions, POB Item selling.

I wasn't referring to trading alone.

Those you actually pirate are however mostly regular traders. The same guys you made that topic about and the same guys some people want to pirate for their entire income.

On a side note: Missionwhoring has actually become way harder than in previous versions. And mining fields actually get depleted so it's not the increased income for everyone.

So let me get this straight, the leader of a trading faction only really RP with pirates if they only ask for peanuts?

And you wonder why people say something is wrong with the trader mentality?

This is a roleplay server at all times, not just when you feel like it.
I only really RP with people who really RP with me, yes.

You're right, it's an RP server, so you should RP all the time. That goes for the pirates too. "5milordaiyouhave10seconds" does not good RP make.

If you want RP, you have to GIVE RP, and since the pirate is the first to start the interaction with traders 90% of the time, it's up to him to give decent RP first.

Ah, I see. So if a pirate asks for more than peanuts, then surely the player behind isn't roleplaying?

Good to know.

I love how you misread things, and interpret them incorrectly to fit your view.

Show me where I said "if he asks for more than 2 million he's a bad RPer". You can't, because I didn't say that. Statistically, lower demanding pirates tend to have a better RP and lead to both parties having more fun than higher demanding pirates. That doesn't mean someone who demands 10 million credits can't RP good, it just means that he normally doesn't.

Also note that I didn't say just because his RP of demanding 10 million credits might be decent, doesn't mean that I will enjoy it any more. Even if it's his RP and he's good at it, it's still ruining the fun for me, unless his RP is just really outstanding. Trying to ruin my fun = why should I even bother making this enjoyable for you?

I would reply to this more, but you would just read it to fit whatever would match your argument, rendering trying to have a semi-intelligent debate with you, futile.
