What is the RP behind Rogues making Pirate IDs hostile to their bases, if the Rogue NPC faction is known to be a home for pirates from all over the unlawful spectrum?

Competition, I think? Even back when you led it, you'd ask us to shoot indies to get them to flee.

(I'm not a Rogue anymore, so that's just my personal guess.)

Yes, but the LR was always only a group of Rogues within the Rogues. We never asked to FR5 anyone except for the [RA], who got banned for 1.2 anyway..
As for shooting indies to get them to flee, it was to get them off the lanes, of course. FR5ing a whole ID takes some reasoning behind it. I can see the OORP one, yes, but the RP one?

It's a try.

Independent pirates who don't work for anyone but themselves are in every aspect an annoyance to the Rogues. They're nothing more but competitors who don't wish to work together with them, or be of any use for them at all. They use their piracy grounds, shoot/hunt them (over 50% of them in reality), and do use the Rogues' bases "for free".

While I must admit that I support the vanilla pirate groups like Lane Hackers (of which you rarely see indies), and dislike the terrorist-like Pirate ID which can be (ab)used by anyone. And it's sad to say, but there are only a few who actually RP with the Rogues, giving them a reason to have them docking on their bases.

Like it's often the case, the well-doing other half has to suffer of such changes. So they either have to use Rogue/Hacker/Junker/Freelancer IDs now.

I'm not judging, but has there been precendences of Rephacks being given for (mostly) OORP worries, in the past? It's somewhat worrying, in a way.

Narc, I can see where you are going with this, but if the Pirate IDs are docking on Rogue bases in RP, they are bringing them annual profit via repair bills and stolen loot. For the rogue peeps working the commodity center, their cargo income does not really matter from who the cargo comes, be it a Rogue, Junker, Zoner or Freelancer/pirate ID.

I suggest you keep the LR ID a chance to blow them up if they do not pay for ''piracy privilages'' and just leave such repercussions to be ingame ones, rather than outright fraking over a whole ID playerbase just because of OORP reasons.


Just my two cents. Pirate IDs are not inagme characters that go around waving "I am a pirate" flag. There is no IRP way to distinguish them. You are not denying Pirate IDs docking rights, you are making them outright hostile to Rogues as a NPC faction, which does not make sense. Pirate IDs are basically Freelancers IRP, but to which we give the added right to piracy by giving them their own ID because of how the ID system works. They are the same people as Smugglers, Freelancers and isn't that the backbone of the LR as a NPC and player faction alike?

I agree, the problem lies in the ID.

There have been a lot of inRP situations of pirates being a thorn in their sides. Remember the Indians? Or people like Altegra and Ciplian? And as said, it's just a test for now. It was even requested by Altejago a year ago already.

The new "Liberty Pirates" who work for the Rogues will now have to use Rogue or Hacker IDs then. One can't have it all. And especially in Liberty it's very hard to deal with indpendent pirates anyways. I don't see a problem why one who likes to RP a pirate in Liberty, can't use a Rogue ID.

Because Rogue IDs have specific nerfs on a few techs.

That's the one I can think of, really. Then again, I am thinking about this from a Pirate IDed player point of view, where it just leaves less safespots to run to.
