Yes, and that alone is more than many people worthy of "being banned for at least a month for and losing 4 billion credits worth of ships" would admit.

He could reimburse the base owner, he could offer a financial reparation, the admins could restore the base if they so choose, I'm certain they have the technology.

Then you take that up with the devs, that doesn't have to do with the topic at hand, the situation continues according to what we currently have, and that's what bases are right now. So bringing that up is irrelevant, it doesn't have anything to do with ooRP actions.

Well....yes, actually, it does. Since we all have to deal with the situation we have now. Bases are still new and there are literally no rules governing them.....except for the largely irrelevant 5.3 d).

As for building it, as far as I'm aware the base has changed hands and was sold and bought. Just because Bretonia made a mistake in judgement by allowing it to be built in the first place doesn't mean they can use ooRP means and justification to make it right.

There's more at stake here than inrp consequences. We're talking about a possible barricade between Liberty and Bretonia.
RP aside, this would have had a serious potential for problems.
Man, we could have initially legal bases by all border systems jumpgates. Totally inrp, since they were permitted.
Massive amounts of supplies accumulated.

Oh, and they blast everyone in sight that doesn't register.

i have to say, i do apreciate why Summer felt he was in a position where he was forced to act. And there perhaps lies the problem ie 2 people cannot have master admin passwords that are independant of each other. So no owner can ever give that level of surity to another party short of giving them the master pass. Hence doubt and mistrust rule the day. So perhaps a solution would be if a self destruct mechanisam could be added to bases. On construction a verifiable and unalterable 'key' is generated. this can be given to parties such as house governments and the owner still has the control they desire. Or perhaps some other mechanism which made joint/multi ownership more workable. Whichever it would have to have a check system to prevent abuse, preferably admin controlled.

This case looks very clear-cut to me. The conditions for the base's construction were that the master password be given to the Bretonian Government, and as far as I know, the Bret Govt made no guarantees about how they'd use the password. The implications for this are quite obvious: if they didn't like how the base was used, they could pull the plug at any time. That occurred, and now there are complaints? You shouldn't be surprised. It's quite inappropriate just to experiment with an armed POB that's sitting on top of a major trade route.

Installing a (lawful) base in a House involves an implicit contract with the House's Government. The base owners broke that agreement, and thus the base was destroyed.

Just 1 Transport got accidently killed while testing Phase but, I already said him my apologizes and would pay him the 50 mil of his traderun anyways. Becuz the base was on the wrong Location, it's now in the Base Heaven. I know this might be confusing but, when i built a base, It's kinda a home for me within the universe of Freelancer. I'm cleaning the shop, I'm making a whole Story. And this all just for fun. I wouldn't do this that much without bases. I'm spending every day 1 hour to supllie those bases and hell yes I love it! It's just awesome. I love to rp with those bases. I like to build Equipment on those bases. I like to sell something in Shop. And no I'm not talking about the cash it costed me and the amount of time. As the base went destroyed and I was in conn Training an readed that - I was just shocked, not angry,not happy, not sad - Just shocked.

I would just like to observe that a core 4 base can be built by a mere 3 people, all the while keeping it hidden from as many other people as we could. If fact as far as I know there are 6 players who know of the bases location 3 players that stumbled across it and the aforementioned 3 (including myself) that built it.

The point I am trying to make is if you really want to have a base that nobody kills is for you to build it as a hidden base and very carefully site it. I can think of 2 systems that would work off the top of my head. nether have any major supply issues.

This method would avoid the problem of BPA or anyone else using an admin password to kill it.

If the contract of this base being legitimate was breached in any way. BPA/BAF had the right to intervene. Maybe they should have warned you first yes. But they allowed you to have that base there, so they are allowed to deny that base too.
