@Govedo, I know. It's just a weird holdover from the old site that only original backers can get the pirate pack pledge while anyone else can only get it as an add-on.
Also if there's anyone who wants an Aurora LX I have one that I plan to melt.
Great looking ship, but being a small capital with more than one crew member. Can that be flow relistically by one person alone, or will it require a number of people flying it together? What I mean is, would that ship be of any real use to a solo pilot in the game.
It seemed like CR was pissed when he found out not all the idris photos where released.
I'm totally going to visit cloud Imperium when I head to comic con 2014. Maybe they will do something there for star citizen.
Chris explained really well how the game is not pay to win during the live stream. Certain people don't have the time to grind or play 30-40 hours a week. Paying can be a shortcut, but in the end, what does winning mean to you? Self sufficient constellation? A hangar full of ships? Star citizen is a mmo. Not everyone has the same play style, nor "winning condition".
If you played for 40 hours for something specific, and go up against someone that bought the same setup with money, odds are you will win. You know your ship, and how to use it. Something similar to compare to would be two people in f1 race cars. A career racer will be a better driver than any other random person.
Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.

I hope same ship can be freely aquired in a reasonable time period. I also hate any donation system, that eventually ends up with more comfortable gameplay compared to hardcore free players, just a matter of time and greed
It reminds me of (World of Tanks) in a way. In that you can purchase top tanks with GOLD bought via their website, no need to play the game for weeks on end to earn enough to buy one. Those who don't spend much time playing the game online, unlike others. It's a good way to get a top tank fast for using. Don't see an issues with that myself, some cannot spend all their time playing a game to get the best ships to compete against others, so it suits both gaming types.
The only thing I have heard mentioned. You get lifetime issurance on some ships puchased. From what I gather, that won't be the case with others players who didn't buy the ship via the website. Not sure how that works? I'm thinking if you get killed you must have insurance purchased in-game with credits to get the ship back again, otherwise you lose it (or whatever). But no idea how that will work really?
