Yo. This is a dedicated thread dedicated to the dedication of the Bass Hunters.
Ask questions, rage, flame and such away.


Just a few things to note:

The group is not an RP group. The group does not exist ingame. None of the ships are related to each other, they do not use tags and other. The group consists of 23 independent players with access to multiple capital ships, dedicated to weed out any and all undernourished bases of Disco.

We beleive that as it was mentioned in the POB introduction, bases are a group effort and are supposed to be heavily influenced by groups. In other words, while you can UPKEEP a base all by yourself, you cannot simply go around the fact that you will not be able to PROTECT the base by yourself. Want a base? Good, get a group.



EDIT: Another thing to add here is that we TRY to do our best to attack only the bases we can attack within reason. In other words, ones which are directly belonging to IDs hostile to the ones we use to attack them. All RP is justified as an attack on an enemy installation.


Another note, dear moderators, please be so nice as NOT to lock the threads, even if flames are about. Let people vent if they want.

This is also not true there are about 8 of em in the group not 23 including some who are permabanned like Karlotta, Frozen Throne etc and some who are not like captain obvious, simdroms, fozbuoy and gooches.

All these guys use hacks to bypass their bans and come on the server to trololollol people's bases.

The Modus Operandi of the Bass Hunters according to the Skype chat I had with them is that they do it for fun and to piss off the Admins for the way they were treated by them before they were banned..........

Just attention seeking really, and I think Sindroms is their leader going by the drive he has shown for these idiots.

The displayed attitude is just great. What I love about you guys is that you do not even pretend not to be complete idiots. You wave the poster in front of you into everybody's faces.

Of course you are fighting a defensive battle here, so that's ofc not easy. But if you ever even hope to get accepted (which you do not), you are doing it wrong. If you really cared for what is written here (which you do not), you should react differently in here.

For someone who claims to have it figured out how to behave like a model member, you certainly aren't reflecting on that with your blatant insults and accusations. Could you please stop trash talking, and instead actually give proper feedback as is requested?

The Base Hunters get punished because of Oorp reasoning. But since (in your own words) you've already said the RP part of DISCOVERY RP 24/7 SERVER is apparently invalid and should be removed, all the game rule based arguments stated before you are nothing but "moot" to you. Thus it's impossible to convince you otherwise.

Almost anything you claimed I said here is the exact opposite of what I said. All punishment is done through OORP reasoning. Administration is not done in roleplay. I didn't say RP is invalid. I said that the possibility of Discovery's roleplay nature may or may not evolve into a nature free of roleplay. Game rule bases arguments stated before me are moot for a reason.

If admins aren't enforcing rules for the sake of ensuring a stable playing environment, they they are doing it for reasons that are considered abuse. Since they acted for the purpose of catering to the players who can't deal with equilibrium (the action of not supplying or defending their base reacting in their bases becoming a target and being destroyed), the enforcing of rules was unjustified.

Besides, I wasn't just talking about the parts involving rules. Syrus' post is a lot bigger than that. Perhaps you should stop skipping parts in a post, and read the full text, as otherwise the meaning of the post becomes warped, as you did here;

A lot of your arguments seem moot and unnecessary. The Bass Hunters are aware of the rules, and they follow them. Why is it they still get punished...

This is to indicate you are and will always be playing a game when playing Discovery, hence you should get attached to an object in it as something vivid you'd encounter in reality. By the looks of it, you take it a tad too serious to be denying that they aren't just pixels.

Why do the official Molly faction seem like they are [M]iners? It's a common tactic to repel metagaming through the use of the player window, one thing literally everyone does.

(for instance, when Sindrom's Corsair legate landed on Gammu to buy capguns there, [which InRp should really be happening if warned off by a Consensian], was shot down, and then a revengegank of many, many lolgates unsanctioned by the Council Of Elders (Corsairs are neutral to AI) destroyed the AI POB. That's... pretty crazy.

You can't dictate whether it's unhealthy for another character to dock on a planet public to almost everyone as a Zoner IFFd planet. That's powergaming. Also, indies don't need the blessing of official factions to act within their ID's restrictions. Now I can't tell for sure, but are you seriously complaining about getting hit back after shooting someone down with as little RP reason as you claim we practice?

The destruction wasn't even a revenge move against shooting Spazzy's Legate down. It was a revenge move against the [AI] faction constantly shooting [ZA] bases and transports in Omicron 74.
