Okay, well, here is the idea.
It is a known fact that you can't pirate in Cruisers and bigger ships.
Well, I had a situation today, that made me think a bit.
My tiny Tiger Shark was chased by a BHG battleship. He said I had a bounty on my head, and he's fulfilling it.
Isn't it a bit funny for a Battleship to fulfill bounties? I mean, it doesn't make sense to me.
And it most certainly looked funny while he was trying to chase me trough an Asteroid field.
I really think that Bounty Hunter Battleships should be used only in Omicrons, in a war against the Order.
We all know that we have a problem with BHG cap ship spamage, so here is the solution.
BHG shouldn't attack without someone having a bounty on his head, and when he has a bounty on his had, they are expected to attack in smaller ships.
Do you seriously think that one of the strongest Houses (Liberty) would allow 2,3 BHG Battlships/Battlecruisers to get that close to Manhatan?
I don't think so. And from all I'v seen, it makes much more sense for Bounty Hunters to fly fighters, bombers and gunboats.
Battleships are not a tool for fulfilling bounties, they are a war tool.
They shouldn't be used for everything.

Just a thought, better to write it down while i still remember it.
So sleepy I am.

Lets go through a scenario.. Bounty put on an Outcast Destroyer.. Now all mercs gotta go after him with fighters, bombers, and gunboats? That doesn't make much since either. No, I don't like the BHG capship spam either, but try to be fair to both sides. Rather than changing a situation that benefits the BHG slightly into a situation that benefits pirates greatly. And no, you can't rely on them making groups to go afer the bounties, as they are not going to want to share the profits. They all go solo as they are out for money.

Now okay. So he brings a BS after your Tiger Shark. And this prevents you from running.. Why? Surely you can outfly a battleship with an HF. After the BHG find out that their BS can't catch a fighter, they will start bringing smaller and faster ships after you. Thats all you can do.

the big problem is in the fact that bounty hunter can pilot anything bigger than a gunboat.
even generic military id cant.

It would make sense if they use gunboats and smaller against the the same.

I believe the problem is that there aren't many bounties on unlawfuls (on anyone, actually). Without bounties to pursue, all the bounty hunter capitals just nuke pirates all day. If more bounties were posted on both sides, there'd be more roleplay actions for bounty hunters other than "policing sirius".

Sadly, I don't think many of them are registered with the forums so this wouldn't help the overall problem.

Another problem is the over-use of Bounty Hunter capital ships. In the discovery universe, Bounty Hunters are at war with the Order in Nomad space. Their Battleships and cruisers are to destroy the Order and explore the Omicrons. Not policing Liberty, not flying around wasting pirates in fighters. Sadly, it's too hard to enforce these restrictions

as i type on another topic, bigest problem is,that most of BH pilots feel as sirius police (the id give him right for make that) many times was my fighter hunted by Bh bs or cruisers or group of the BH cap ships. and my smugler too. is realy funny when BH battleship is killing smuggler only for cargo. my opinion is that when is not bounty on your head, bounty hutner act as neutral to you, because they work only for money not for run or for another destroyed ship. they have nothing from that when they only meet you and kill you without bounty.

There are an ok number of contracts out there, both lawful and unlawful. There could be more but the inherent problem here is that many flying such caps rarely look at the forums if at all. All one needs to do is Search the forums for Bounty or Contract....you'll see a few of em pop up.

I personally think that all BH ships bigger then Cruiser should be removed (they're SW ships anyway). Why? because bounty hunters are solo killers. For bigger targets they would group up yeah...but still they are solo or small group. Think about it, if you have a BH BC thats what, a hundred crew? maybe more? How far is the bounty gonna go among that many AFTER paying for maitenance/repairs to the ship...

meh...im going to bed.

I should say, that if I were a BHG I would in fact take contracts on both lawful, and unlawful parties. And I should also say, I would fight for those bounties instead of making alliances that would decrease my payout.

That being said, it would make more sense for a lone VHF to target a lone VHF rather than grouping with Commissar Cannon in his BC and having to split the pay. And capable pilot should see my reasoning here.

I believe Bounty Hunters can only take bounties against unlawfuls.
