Well, here it is;
I was on my navy character, when I saw that trader ID guy in a... pirate transport, flying around Manhatten. So I ask him how is it he got this ship, except he doesn't respond and just keep flying in circle around the planet for I dont know why or what.
And then he run away, as I asked him the same question for like, the fourth time, this time with threat of destruction. I didn't had CD yet, so I just let him go away - but am I allowed to destroy him?
That brings to the more generalised question;
If a neutral IDed character, this include civilian above lvl 30 and trader, does not answer, or obey to a lawful character's request, well, are we allowed to destroy him? I know RM is always being pointy on all kind of matter, even on the fact some trade ships come from Liberty, but the worst I've seen from their actions so far was a simple annoyance warning to said victim.
If I am right, then maybe we should add the following line to lawful ID; some thing like "all civilian populations are to obey at the order of the [insert lawful force], or will face termination"
I was attacked by players when I didn't respond and it created a huge mess I don't want to happen again. However radio silence is common place.
My suggestion, if they don't answer have them leave where you are and if they are doing something illegal kill them. However, if they leave and are not doing anything illegal and do not fire on you, I say let them go.
Even when I wasn't responding to the navy and police players I still left Manhattan as they said, and when they opened fire I held fire until my shields failed. They provoked me to fire and it cost them the lives of three pilots. That is why I say if they leave and are not carrying any illegal cargo, leave them be.
Well, if you maintain comm silence, you are suspicious, and should automatically be destroyed after a significant number of threat.
which means comm silence is really, not wise. trying to explain would maybe save you, which is much more realistic in my opinion.
Okay com silence will make one suspicious, but if it is not an official enemy and the ship does not have anything illegal on them, I say just let them go, but if they don't leave the main areas (ie Manhattan) then kill them. Maybe just follow the ship for a while and see where they are going and then just say "Ah leave them"
Though I will not likely maintain com silence again...unless it is rp, cause coms going down for a little bit can happen.
Well, you scan the ship, it gives out pirate transport. And it, looks pirate for sure looks like an oversized pirate fighter. sure he did nothing wrong...
But, it is very suspicious. As suspicious as trying to driving around in a tank and hope the police will say "ah whatever" if you dont answer their hail.
I don't think you should attack a trader just by the ship he flys, there could be many RP reasons why he flys that ship and if he is not carrying anything dodgy then he really has done nothing wrong.
Yes its suspicious but not braking the law.
My trader flys a pirate train because for one i like the look of it and for two its good in asteroids.
