I'm gonna jump in here on balancing the Blood Dragon.

I've flown the ship for a while, using only Daitos, pretty sub-par guns (BD faction Level 9s). I'll just throw in the stats here so you can see how much worse they are compared to the Kraken and Salamanca:

SPS = Shots per second

Daito:

70 energy @ 8.33 SPS = 583.1 Energy per second
1940.89 Hull Damage per second
966.28 Shield Damage per second

Salamanca:

97.8 energy @ 4.00 SPS = 391.2 energy per second
1956 Hull Damage per second
980 Shield Damage per second

Kraken:
126 energy @ 4.00 SPS = 504 energy per second
2224 Hull Damage per second
1112 Shield Damage per second

So, we can see that while the Kraken has better damage than the Salamanca, the Salamanca has a better energy efficiency. But the Daito just takes the cake with being a piece of ****, having a lot less efficiency in energy and less hull and shield damage per second. This, coupled with the BD's horrible power generator, makes it a very sub-par ship offensively.

What's funny is that I've beaten many pilots flying Raven's Talons, Titans, etc in 3v1s, 4v1s, and such. Most of the time a capwhore manages to shove his nose into the fight and make me run (as I can't do any damage to even a gunboat), but I have been able to finish a few 3v1s before with my victory.

Now, this isn't to say I haven't lost before. During an RP event, I've lost to an eagle sported out in the best codies, nuke mines, shield busters, et cetera. That's just lame in my opinion, codenames should be rare enough that you shouldn't be able to do that, but that's a different subject. The point is that while the Blood Dragon has superior mobility to all VHFs, with my loadout, it can be outclassed by raw power in terms of weaponry. Another problem that my loadout has is the complete inability to fight transports and capital ships at all, making even two people with my loadout have trouble taking down a container transport, though I have done it alone before. Took a while.

Anyways, the problem with the Blood Dragon is it that it can mount similar weapons to the other VHFs. With this feature on it, I agree as a pilot of it; it's incredibly overpowered. However, with my all-dDito loadout, it's more balanced since it has less punch but more turn. Decreasing the max level of the Blood Dragon loadout to all level 9's would force players to choose between a tank like the Titan and more maneuverable ships like the Eagle and Blood Dragon.

However, if this was done to the Blood Dragon, I'd expect the same sort of thing to happen to the Eagle, Titan, and Saber. The Blood Dragon would have zero level 10 slots, the Eagle would have a few level 10 slots (maybe 1-2), the Saber would have a few more, and then the Titan should be the most amount of level 10 slots. While this sounds like quite a drastic change (What, I can't whore codies anymore? Woe is me!), I personally think it would go a long way towards improving balance among the top fighters. It's already done in the level 9 guns (Daito vs others), why not do it for level 10's as well?

Damage per second = refire x damage per shot

That means, Daito DPS = 8.33 x 233

And yes, all Laser guns use much more energy then Neutron or Particle ones.
But it is easier to hit with them.
And they are faster then Salamanca's.
I agree Krakens are better, but not as you presented it.

well I agree with Kinslayer...

with RP loadout - Daitos the BD is kind of average ship
with Disinfectors which I would also consider RP it's a above average...

with 6 Krakens... it's overpowered

Gun slots:
I always wondered why do all VHFs have exactly 4 lvl 10 slots.( I know Talon has 6) Changing their number is an interesting idea... but still it won't remove "the Kraken problem"

=> every pirate that has anything do with Outcasts tends to use them... Hessians, Rogues, Hackers, Blood Dragons, GC, Mollys... that is more than half of all sirius pirates...

Yeah, my bad, I forgot to multiply those out when making the post. Was just copying down values and intended to mult out once I wrote post but forgot. Editing now.

Also, saying that they're easier to hit with is true, but each shot does less damage; If I hit you 2x as much as you hit me, we're still doing about the same damage (4.00 vs 8.33). If you're talking about projectile speed, it really doesn't matter once you stop number crunching and fire the dumb things (from a pilot that has used both before).

due to the fight on Friday and the fact that I bought a titan a few days ago and it flys almost just like a sabre I will say that this is a lot of bunk...... quit complaining.

it "flies" quite good yes (nowhere near the Sabre thought)... but it's just too wide=> tends to eat mines...

It can be used pretty good with up/down strafe (which I have a problem with).

I had a 1v1 practice now in Gamma (which is useless, I know, just clarifying a bit), and while I had problem with hitting a guy (he was strafing really good, combined left/right/up/down), my missile just always hits.
I don't know why, but it hits much more often then against a Sabre.
I also know that missiles hit better in 1v1, but I'm comparing it with 1v1 against a Sabre.

Also, I have yet to try to dodge fire from 5+ people in Eta.
I guess I will be very disappointed after that:)

Im sorry I fly both Titan and Saber on a regular basis and they fly nothing like it each other. The Saber turns faster, strafes 10x faster and doesn't attract mines/missiles like its a magnet.

Missiles are about same effective against both...

but the Titan is really vulnerable to mines...

There is a reason why people use Krakens. They are fitting for bombers.

Natterturn Zweis, Daitos, and etc..., don't work very well on bombers. Of course, you can tell everyone who mounts them on bombers to get codies and nomad guns, but in my opinion, thats so much more OORP than using your ally's gun.
