Just wondering if anyone has tried the superb Evochron Mercenary out?

I bought it a few weeks ago and I must say it's brilliant. Think Freelancer, updated, improved and looking better than ever and that's what it is.

It is less "arcady" when compared the Freelancer (which is a good thing IMO), but seems to be just as big and has dedicated servers.

Anyone who likes Discovery Freelancer should check it out, as I am having a blast in it and I am sure many of you may like it too.

Did't play it, but I realy like this:

• True freeform gameplay without plot restrictions, conditions, or limitations. No character attribute/skill limitations to hold you back. Experience ultimate gameplay freedom and play the game the way you want to. Your decisions and abilities define your role in the game and establish your reputations, wealth, progress, and ranking.

They do a demo on the site for download if you are interested. I would give it a go. I myself stopped playing Disco a month or so ago after spending a significant amount of time in it.

What with Star Citizen being quite far on the horizon I was looking for other games and found this little gem. Full Newtonian physics and all that - just like Star Citizen will have. You can even land on planets, which is quite cool.

I heard it's really buggy and gets tedious, I haven't played it myself yet though.

The only space game I will play it will be star citizen. Other space sim better than fl and free are non-existent. At least in my opinion.

Thats a pretty weird statement if you ask me. Evochron is not free and is better than Freelancer.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Take it or leave it, just thought some of you would be interested in it, is all. I and several friends have been playing it over the last few weeks and all of us are absolutely loving it.

Don't bash it until you try it, at least.

The game is bad and you should feel bad for posting it here. How can you thing such a messy ugly complicated user interface can compete with Freelancer?
